Ox gets injured "occasionally"?

posted on 30/10/15

We have players who get injured occasionally i.e. Ox, Theo, Ramsey, Gibbs and Welbeck(who is scarily becoming Wilshere part 2) but they are Young

Yeah and Wilshere is an old man I guess

That sounds a very Hitlerian strategy.

Since wilshere's first major injury how many games has he missed? A whole I guess. Enough to make him injury prone regardless of his age. Some of us knew diaby's career was over when he kept breaking down. We didn't need 5 years to tell us the obvious

"Ox gets injured "occasionally"

Are you being for real? Dude is as injury prone as they come.

If we were to get rid of all our injury prone players then we would get rid all of our British players

Isn't Walcott in the most injured 11 ever in prem history.

Welbeck was never injured at United but it looks like he will out for a whole year while in his first season at Arsenal.

Ox can't play 90 mins on the trot without pulling a hamstring.

Ramsey will have a minimum of 3 hamstrings per season.

Gibbs is another who is horribly injury prone. Only reason he hasn't got injured yet is because he has hardly played

Wilshere, no explaination required

Wenger has just said that Ox will be back before Walcott.

Looks like it could be a long termer for Walcott again

That’s all from the Arsenal boss for now - but here’s a quick recap of the main points that Wenger has raised this morning:
•Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain are out until after the international break
•Wenger hasn’t decided in his XI for Swansea tomorrow yet
•“You can’t over-analyse injuries”says the Gunners boss
•Arsenal may enter the transfer market in January if they still have injuries
•“I want to play football as close to perfection as possible”
•There will be no recall for Serge Gnabry

"Arsenal may enter the transfer market in January if they still have injuries"

we have injures every season leading up to Jan but bring in no one. Good banter by wenger there

No point in getting of players due to injury as soon as a player joins us they become injury prone (except Giroud)

The problem isn't we have injury prone players, the problem is the squad depth is garbage. You don't hear City fans saying to sell Aguero do you.

Surprised cazorla hasn't had more injuries. Luckily him Sanchez, ozil and Coquelin have been pretty injured free by Arsenal standards! I know ozil misses a chunk, but he's been ok since.

I wouldn't give up on likes if ox or Wilshere. They still have time. Arteta and rosicky should have gone in the summer really, and replaced by more reliable less injury prone players. But mainly we really need an independent inquiry into the injury situation. It's terrible and has been holding us back for years.

Diaby

Doesn't look like Diaby has played a game for Marseille yet. Dunno if he's injured or not, but most likely is

Once wenger and the current regime call it a day, the injuries will improve

What, meaning we'll get a better quality of injury?!

In the 2004 invincible season, I cannot recall many injuries. The other problem we have is the time scale they are out. Remember Rosicky's knee injury lasting longer than Eduardo's leg break.

Injuries are just apart of our club. We have the same problem next season and the season after

Sack Wenger for the injury list?

posted on 30/10/15

Didn't a Spurs supportung builder of the Emirates bury a Tottenham shirt under the pitch for bad luck? There's your answer.

But really I think it's got to be a combination of a lot of things.

Number one being nature of course.

Giroud is apparently really into a specialised diet and fitness regime. Sanchez seems a highly professional individual. These things must help.

Wilshere seems like a big time charlie. Ox is a bantersaurus... Walcott, Gibbs who knows but perhaps they're not as dedicated to health and fitness as others.

Playing too much too young - this appears to be a real trend not just at Arsenal but plenty of other players have had injury blighted careers after being young stars.

Training at Arsenal, we've all heard quotes from ex players saying there's little structure to it.

Med team. Once the players are injured they stay injured.

There was an article I read a while ago from a physio. Said a reason could Be that Wenger doesn't encourage weight training and gym work. Majority of his training involves having ball at your feet as much as possible. While it had its positives, it also increases chance of a muscle strain or ankle twists etc. Whereas weight training is important for strengthening muscles and joints, and protection around joints. Therefore reducing injuries if done correctly. Footballers don't need to do loads of weight sessions, but a good balance is needed. If Wenger doesn't really do any, then it could be a reason

A lot of the problems could be avoided if we had a strong enough squad to be able to rotate players more. As it is Theo, Ozil, Sanchez, Coq, Ramsey and Bellerin need to play every match. Gibbs is good enough to cover for Monreal (although is at his best after a run of games) and we have 3 CBs I'd be happy playing. Once the long term bsentees of Wilshere and Welbeck come back I'll be a bit happier about the situation, but for now we don't have the depth.
