That was my initial reaction too but does getting clobbered by some 30 year old 16 stone league one plodder really prepare you for a career in the premier league?
Surely anyone half decent would benefit more from training with the best players at the best facilities week in week out?
The loan system seems to be fuelled by the English football mentality of "if they're big/strong/fast enough to compete then they're good enough".
I can only really think of Ibe and Kelly recently who've gone out on loan and forced their way into the first team.
Luis Alberto back in liverpool to get treatment on a groin injury
Kent scored a peach for Coventry last night. Cut in off the left and curled into the far corner from the edge of the box.
Apparently he's been sent back to Melwood for the international break so Klopp can get a better look at him.
Oh and Marko is injured for another month apparently.

Yes is the answer.
The best PL defenders are very physical and young players need to be tough.
The best young attacking players in recent years can all look after themselves physically.
You don't want them getting their legs broke obviously, but that can happen in training or at any time.
I get where you're coming from righteous but I think we should be prioritising our young players' technical abilities first before their strength and physicality.
In other news, Kent also did this on Tuesday night:

Copied a bunch of this from the Echo....but still...
Andre Wisdom took the honours for Liverpool’s loan stars over the weekend as he returned to the Norwich starting line-up and helped secure a clean sheet.
The 22-year-old defender was recalled by Canaries’ boss Alex Neil and was part of a back four which kept Swansea off the score sheet in the 1-0 home victory.
In the Championship there was frustration for Sheyi Ojo as he played around an hour for Wolves in their 0-0 home draw with Burnley.
Winger Ojo, 18, won some free-kicks in good areas in the first half but was booked for diving early in the second and was withdrawn not long afterwards.
So, Marko, balo and Alberto all injured.
Vigouroux played as Swindon got humped by Rochdale in the cup.
Ward kept another clean sheet at Aberdeen and McLaughlin even got some playing time.
Yesil came off the bench for Luzern, but only once they were 2 down.
Canos scored and assisted at the weekend
Ryan Kent had another good game for Coventry it seems. Started in the middle of the park, got an assist (from a corner no less!) and helped Coventry to the top of the league.
Vigouroux was the only one to feature for Swindon as they got humped 5-1 by Fleetwood. He gave away the pen for their 2nd goal.
Our other keeper Ward continued to start for Aberdeen as they stayed at 3rd in Scotland after a 1-1 away draw with Hamilton. McLaughlin was an unused sub.
Ojo came off the bench for the last 15 for Wolves. Wisdom seemed to do OK for Norwich. I wouldn;t be surprised to see him leave in the summer.
Alberto, Balo, Marko all injured I think. Yesil was again on the bench in switzerland. Awoniyi wasn't in the Frankfurt squad.
Canos scored his first goal of the season though, as 10 man Brentford beat the hopeless Forrest.

He was lucky not to get sent off for the pen. Got booked, and then kept putting his hands on the ref. Not the first time hes dropped a clanger this year.
Is it too much to ask for just one keeper to come through the ranks at the club?

Ward seems to be doing OK.
Yeah, hes been getting decent reviews.
Always hard to see how a keeper is doing froma highlight reel as they tend to just show the goals flying in. But everytime theres a set of Swindon highlights it seems to feature Larry Vigourous looking dodgy.
Article in the Echo yesterday where Yesil said he expects to break through at Liverpool under Klopp.
Gotta admire his confidence given that he's got Studge, Benteke, Ings and Firmino firmly ahead of him and Origi as further competition.
And is stuck firmly on the bench in Switzerland
Yesil is still young and has had a lot of injury.
IF he can prove fitness over a sustained period then he might yet make it.
Match sharpness can take a long time to recover after a lot of injury.
YEah, its the injuries that are the worry, and just how much they stunted his growth as a player. Same worry i have for Flanagan. Missing a year to 18months during prime development time can't be good.

Vigouroux not looking the hairy breast.
Ryan kent was taken off after about 71 minutes of Coventry's 0-0 draw away at Bradford. A decent result that keeps them top of League One.
Been on vacation for the last week or so, so haven't had the chance to look at the loanees, however..........Thiago Ilori is alive!
Made the bench for Villa at the weekend. Granted, when Villa needed defensive reinforcements they opted for Kieran Richardson over him, but by jingo, he's made progress!
Sergi Canos made his second start of the season as Brentford marched on toward the playoff spots. 13 appearances and seems to come off the bench regularly.
Yesil remained on the bench for Luzern. Awoniyi still hasn’t played for FSV Frankfurt.
Lots of guys didn't play due to FA cup games at the weekend. Balo and Alberto still injured it seems.
