My winter folder has stuff like The Cocteau Twins, The Sundays, Fleet Foxes, Nick Drake. Perfect for morning walks on frosty January mornings.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You can't beat Liz Frazer's nonsensical lyrics coupled with Robin Guthrie's jangly guitar sound, a match made in Heaven

This is my favourite

Wumpatrol, have you heard of a band called "Hecate Enthroned"?
Used to watch headbangers ball on mtv occasionally, and despite it not being my favourite genre, some of their stuff was sort of ok
I used to live round the corner from Bill Steer.

I haven't but will check them out. Thanks for the rec.
BTW The Mantle isn't even a metal album in the pure sense of the word. There are so many genres blended there that you cannot just tag it in one genre.

I thought the new Jessie Ware was a bit bland compared to Devotion. It failed to distinguish itself from other pop albums like Devotion did.

Agreed. Toughness was a good album. Running reminded me of Blue Lines era Massive Attack.
I agree Wumpatrol.
It's just that I followed the instructions and that's what came on. Toughness is better.
At the moment I'm into Hindi Zhara (Beautiful tango a fave) and London Grammar.
Sorry Wumpatrol. Meant Devotion, my bad.
Late to the party. The recent spate of music articles have been brilliant btw The first shuffle tune is Do the Damage by Noel Gallagher's HFBs.
As for songs when running, I do have a high energy playlist with Club Foot, Black Skinhead, Morning Glory etc on it.
But i tend to just put the ipod on shuffle and turn it right up, Albatross by Foals is turning into a good running tune, strangely, Walking on the Moon is a good "keep it going" song, it's the few minutes of repeating "keep it up, keep it up".
I know mu52. I was just making a comment on the album from your shuffle.
Providence of the previous Foals albums was a banger.
This time it's Somebody to love Queen
