Why were we so quick to get Brad Friedel and then do very little until the last few days? I just don't get it! Did they not think the attack was a major area that needed improving and that they should act the way they did with the goalkeeping position.

Deadknee - True, and remember Crouch will be there for Delap to aim his throw-ins at. One of his few uses for us was that he was good for counteracting those.

Crouch in theory would be good for Stoke but we all know he is pants at heading.

Only when the ball is put on the plate to him, 2 yards out and open goal he can score.

I'd genuinely like to know if Crouch has scored with a long range effort because I've never seen it. Couldn't imagine the ball having the power to beat a keep from distance with those wimpy legs.

Pav is inconsistent but he can produce something out of nothing occasionally.

Whereas Crouch is consistent, producing nothing out of something every game.
