GMS has always been inconsistent and I think most Celtic fans were underwhelmed with Ciftci. I think there is a good player in Amstrong though and perhaps part of his lack of form is more down to finding his correct position rather than anything else.
Just my options of course. Yourself and other Celtic fans will know better
Mummy - no one has a divine right to be correct - your opinion is as valid as anyone's
Correct me if I'm wrong but has Ciftci even been given a run of games?
Obviously Griffiths is in good form so make it difficult
Mummy - spot on - the one domestic game Nadir started he scored the winning goal and played well .
He has not impressed when he has come on as sub, aside from when he scored against Dundee
Agree entirely with the article in the sense that we and they were at our and their best when there was a fluidity to the attack that allowed for interchangeable positions - a very low level "total football".
Ciftci would often drop deep and one of the others would move forward (although frequently Andy Robertson would stay up front for a bit after a marauding run!) and they would work hard for each other.
I have no idea why it stopped but they've shown they have the intelligence to do that - but they need the two pivot midfielders to make sacrifices. I'm not sure Brown and Biton can make those sacrifices or indeed should make them.
Ivan Cheers, pal - good to see that the article has some substance.
It was a decent article and I think Ivan summed it up well, Stu is, and should be a no10, he is not a wide player, I have high hopes for him
