We need to help genuine refugees. Economic migrants need to be stopped as they are taking a place from the genuinely needy.

Sometimes bad things will happen in the world.
Lurching further to the right will not make that better or less likely.
In fact, history suggests that the more countries lurch to the far right (or far left) the more likely a truly global conflict becomes.
Anyone who thinks that UKIP are the answer are frankly imbeciles. A little Englander mentality will not make us more safe.
I agree with some here, closing the borders now is like shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted. Islam is clearly a perverse ideology, even worse than the other religions, if such a thing was possible. Some of the attackers may have come from Belgium but I'd bet good money that 100 years ago their ancestors didn't.
However, I do agree with those who want to close the borders as well because we didn't know before we let the parents of the 7/7 bombers in that Islam could wreak such havoc, now we know better and should adjust our immigration policy accordingly.
When was the last time we had Chinese or Hindu terrorist attacks in Europe?

There has been Christian terror attacks in the UK for decades, with a lot of funding from Christians in America.

It's easy, if you invited someone to your house for a meal, drink , party etc and they said take down them curtains , clock, pictures etc as I don't like them you would ask them to leave - not our government we not only cower to demands of people who are offended by everything except our NHS and benefit system - we constantly hand over money , supplies, aid to countries who fcking hate us , burn our flag
I'm I missing something or is this not what's going on
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You missed out the bit where, prior to inviting them, you went round their house and took a baseball bat to their belongings, took out the father and replaced him with one you deem more suitable to run a family and then cyphoned all the fuel from their car.

Beattiful response to a post of breathtaking ignoranc..
It's now known that at least one of yesterday's terrorists exploited the EU's everyone welcome policy and came to Europe via boat among the refugees.

As for those saying the horse has bolted - I completely disagree. Are there terrorists lurking in Europe already? Yes, absolutely. But that in no way means others aren't coming in. In fact, yesterday's attacks have proven just how important border control is.
As for saying border control doesn't work - really? Do you all know the strategies for terrorists gaining entry to foreign lands? If you do, please share.
Border control exists yes but in the most basic of forms.
What we're asking for is a robust, rigorous action to tackle our borders.
people are also forgetting that the UK has the benefit of being an island away from mainland Europe so we already have an advantage. Let's take full advantage.
I've also seen the knee jerk facebook comments. I've also seen the knee jerk show of solidarity. But this is becoming a familiar pattern isn't it. A terrorist attack followed by speeches of Union and togetherness. They did that after New York and Madrid and London and Paris. Nothing's changed.
Also, can people stop banging on about immigration being a blessing on the television. This is not the argument. Liberal idiots.
So far the reports that any of the attackers were refugees have proven false (unsurprisingly).
The only named one was born in France.

There's nothing basic about it. Only those with a complete ignorance on the subject think so. It's near impossible for somebody outside of the EU to get a visa to enter the UK. The only methods are if you're joining a family member or if you're seeking employment in a job which the UK are in high demand for, mostly doctors etc. Even then it's very difficult, especially proving your reason of wanting to enter. Not to mention the cost, time and effort of it all and of course having to pass the Life in the UK exam and proof of an acceptable level of English via an exam by a recognised entity. If you've no family in the UK or Europe(a whole new debate, which I won't go into but you can look up the EU Directive about joining a family member of an EU country, working in another EU country), you live outside of the UK and you're not required due to your skills, you have zero chance of entering the UK.
There's various other things you have to prove also, you have the means to support yourself(as contrary to popular belief and propaganda that the newspapers push on people, non-EU nationals are not entitled to benefits), ie have a job or savings, your family member is supporting you and earns a certain amount per year, evidence of your reason for entering and of course any criminal offences. If you're found to have lied about anything, you're banned from applying for ten years.
It's far far away from being basic and there's thousands of immigration solicitors who are highly qualified on the subject, up and down the country, due to the difficult nature of it all and the requirement from people who need help in understanding the many many different requirements and laws, which are ever changing and tightening.
As I said before, anybody who thinks it's basic, has a complete ignorance on the subject.
