No Alli v Chelsea...the options

Keep it simple. Switch out Alli for Mason and Lamela for Son. We'll need combative players in the midfield (never thought I'd describe Lamela as 'combative'!).

Dembele is key. If he bosses the midfield then we have a good chance. Verts and Alder need to stay calm against the c**t Diego Costa too.

Am probably the only one here not that bothered Alli is missing. We have Mason back and for me an integral part of the team . Lets not forget he was in great from prior to his injury and put in a MOTM display in the match against Sunderland before injury.
Still remember when we lost Bentaleb, Mason and Dembele to injury and people were worried. But Alli and Dier filled in perfectly and we went o a good run. We have a good squad and all seem to have bought into Poch's philosophy. COYS!!

I think it should be Mason in for Alli & Lamela on the bench, otherwise same team as yesterday.

As little disruption to the team as possible.

However we should play a vastly changed team on Thursday night V Qarabag.

It does say an awful lot about the way the idiots who run Uefa think. Chelsea play on Tuesday in the CL & we play on Thursday in the Europa, so Chelsea have 4.5 days to recover whilst Spurs players get 2.5 days, and at least 6-7 hours of that will be travelling time!

No wonder the same teams have kept qualifying for the CL year in, year out!

^ It's a good point re. Qarabag. We really should be sending the second team on this one. We don't NEED a victory on Thursday, whereas on Sunday we can end Chelsea's season.

Ginge

Verts is king of the wind up to be fair. Costa is a button-pusher too, so it'll be interesting to see who keeps their cool

Watch out

Agree with that, I think we are pretty interchangeable in midfield at present. We lose a player, and someone else steps up. It's an opportunity for someone rather than a hindrance to us.

^It's also a good opportunity for a bit of rotation. The players are running >10k each game, which must be fairly knackering!

Mason in for All and Lamela for Son.

Lamela hasn't done anything wrong to be dropped and Son wasn't spectacular yesterday to force Lamela out of the team.

I can only guess Mason came on for Alli so he could get some game time next to Dier.

Though I wouldn't mind if we went for it and put Dembele next to Dier and had an attack of Eriksen, Lamela and Son.

Doos

Lamela wouldn't be dropped though - he didn't play yesterday.

Yesterday was our best performance of the season, so there should only be enforced changes in my view. Therefore, bring in Mason for Alli and that's it. I can't believe people are suggesting that Son should be dropped for Lamela.

Thursday is absolutely pointless, I will be fuming if any of the 11 above (that Poch picks) even travel

As long as we beat Monaco we are through. We should take a side to Azer to avoid defeat, but if we get beat so be it. We can play Alli in this one too now.

Whichever one of Lamela, Son or Mason doesn't start Sunday in a permutation with NJie and Onomah

Why shouldn't Son be dropped for Lamela?

Lamela has been playing well and Son didn't do anything to warrant starting ahead of Lamela yesterday.

If Son was a beast yesterday then that would be fair enough but he wasnt.

Would drop Dembele back and bring in Lamela

posted on 23/11/15

son did very well yesterday and for me keeps his place, the main selection issue is for thursday, i think we should take one of Toby/Vertonghen or it could end in a route

Son may not have been a "beast" but hit complimented the team's shape and tactics very well, as highlighted on MOTD2 last night.

Lamela has done well recently, but not so well that he can just walk straight back into the team.

Play Mason and Dier in CM. Son should keep his place ahead of Lamela because he is the first choice in that position IMO. He offers a bit more than Lamela and keeps the tempo of the game whereas Lamela tends to slow things down a bit.

If Dier and/or Mason are getting overrun in CM then Dembele can drop back to solidfy the midfied.

You don't think Son had a good game yesterday Doos? I thought he was fantastic myself - the only thing missing was a goal

Son added a lot to the team yesterday and was picked out by the pundits as a top performer.

I'd be inclined to put Lamela on for Alli.

Dembele Dier
Lamela Son Eriksen
Kane

That would be my team for Thursday

Thursday is absolutely pointless,

It is this sort of nonsense from supporters that does my head in. Spurs, other than a couple of League Cup wins have won SFA for about 25 years, and you are poo pooing a European competition. Get a grip mate.

I agree with Hengy. Bring in Lamela for Alli. Lamela seems to turn it on in the big games. He was immense against Man City and Arsenal. We lost more than an attacking threat when he came off against Arsenal because his pressing was relentless, even before we conceded I sensed we weren't the same with him off and felt we'd concede as a result. Mason isn't a bad option but Lamela actually offers more defensively in terms of pressing high up and offensively too

Read it properly thicko

As long as we beat Monaco we are through, regardless of Thursday.

Sandy it's pointless in the fact that we have another HOME tie to finish the group. There is no need to send our main players to the other side of the world

posted on 23/11/15

Son played very well yesterday, I can see Mason coming in for Ali, and I would not be surprised to see Son keep his place. This should teach players you get needless bookings, get suspended, no guarantee of getting your place back.
