He'll get a purple patch soon enough. Just needs that lucky break a la Crouch's stint at Liverpool
TBH The only winners (so far) in the whole Torres/Carroll saga are Newcastle ......
Lets not split hairs. Carragher is more the problem for the reduction to this method of football than Carroll is.
Its always been his 'get out' ball just an aimless slow lofted lump up the pitch but Carroll just gives him another easy excuse.
However I do think that Kuyt and Suarez have developed a very good understanding and partnership. I have always maintained that Kuyt is very good at locating space and using it, and with Suarez and his obvious talents for picking out players this has worked very well so far.

I think he'll come good but theres no denying we played better football without him in the team against Bolton. Its dissapointing though because its not his fault everyone keeps launching the ball at him. Our players need to have more discipline and learn that they can pass through the midfield if Carrol is on the pitch and not opt for the easy hoof.
I have no doubt he'll prove a good signing though because hes to good a striker not to score goals
Someone recently pointed out....it took Rush 9 games to score his first goal and peter crouch...19 games. Carroll is class, and will be superb, Get behind the team!
Saturday Night - I'm sure you'll find we're all behind the team you numpty and looking forward to an interesting season !
Andy Carroll need an almighty kick up the ar@e!
On occasions at Newcastle he got mobile and with good service he terrorised defences in the Premiership. Now he's at Liverpool he's failed to raise his game. There are rumours that he's been on the swig, there is no place in modern football for drinking excess.
We can blame Carra all day, but we also have Downing and Adam who are among the best crossers of a ball in the Premiership. You can't cross a ball to a striker who's not on the move and I'm sad to say Carroll has been about as mobile as a moored supertanker this season.
He needs to raise his game and fast!
Thats good to know....just dont know why you're already so concerned......big Andy will be fine!!
Not worried at all. He's played less than two full games time - 176 minutes. He needs more game time, and in the mean time we have Suarez, Kuyt, Downing, Adam and Henderson. He'll get underway soon enough. Downing and Adam will provide for him to score.
Wow Agger you speak some sense!
unlike some on here
Carroll will be used predominantly in away games imo.
Some players take longer than others to settle and produce their best form at a new club. Suarez, Enrique and Downing have hit the ground running. Henderson and Adam did well against Bolton. Big Andy it sems will need a little more time.
His strength and ability to hold the ball up will be very useful in certain fixtures, especially away games. Give the kid a chance.
My only real concern is his lack of pace, but I'm sure he will prove his worth given time. We clearly over paid for him but circumstance dictated the price.
I'm also sure he will be in the team against Stoke and hopefully like Henderson against Bolton, he will be able to get his season up and running

Cheers mate, it's so frustrating to see a player with talent ruining his career, I hope Kennys on the case. Carrolls his biggest challenge so far.
Sorry, but Carroll looks in much better form than he did at the end of last season.....he's already has two goals wrongly disallowed.....I would agree he was a moored supertanker with respect to the Exeter game but at least he got a goal out of it. Depends on who we play really. Kuyt and Suarez were great together against bolton, but I think carroll will be good against stoke away!

Agger agreed
However I still dont think he is fully fit and I must admit hes a tad on the chubby side which will almost certainly affect his mobility.
I personally think he needs to find that hunger again and then he will be back.
I reckon if he chops of that ponytail ... magic will occur
If Andy Carrol chopped off his ponytail who would do the match threads

I too have my concerns over Carroll - we play exciting ball to feet football when AC not around. As soon as he comes on, HOOF... Boring, predictable football.
When AC came on against Bolton, I had a very nervous laugh when he got the ball tangled up in his feet at least twice highlighting for me that he seriously needs to pick up speed and pace in his game. quicktime.
