IMO United should drop out of European competition ASAP, as it allows us to focus on the league. Second best option is to try and win the Europa league
We can't, I told you that earlier. We are in the Europa at least.
We're Manchester United FFS, should be aiming to win every competition we're in.
Yes that's impossible, and we certainly don't look like getting anywhere near the last 8 of the CL even if we qualify, but we should be trying to go as far as possible.
So you bust a gut to get in the CL then jusy accept failing to qualify from the group stage?

Question on the OP is would you rather go all out to win it, or play kids, drop out ASAP and concentrate on the league?
CL, of course.
Get through the group stage and we have 2-3 months and a transfer window to get stronger and get players back into form.
So many defeatists on here today.
Seems silly asking a question for a possibility that cannot happen.
We have a snow balls chance in hell of winning the CL but we have a realistic chance of winning the league or FA cup. So isn't out European campaign just another glamorous distraction?
None of that was in the op either.
Going as far as we can in the cl, obviously.
Hate this attitude some people have towards Europe.
Oh but we can't win it. So what? We should give it our very best. It's an insult to the fans, the opposition and the competition not to.
The answer's obvious if you go to games.
Darren.
Thats why I ask for people's opinion
I personally don't think we have a squad capable of competing on all fronts. But if people disagree, they can post their own opinions
It's very simple. I want us to get out of the group stages and see what happens.
My dad went to the game yesterday and he was furious, he wants LVG out, this is coming from someone who backed moyes till the very end
It's fair to say we are a very poor side and I have the stats to back that up but anything can happen in football. If we can make it out of the group and buy some players in Jan we could maybe make it into the quarters.
But obviously the odds are against it

My son writes good articles.
I want us to go as far as we can in any competition, including the CL. If it was just based on believing we'd win the competition, I'd suggest we cancel our season now as I don't see us being good enough to win anything
Do people have memories that only last a season?
Do you think Chelsea could win it when they were playing dreadful footy and ended the season in 6th place?
It's a cup competition... Get through and we have a chance, as would the other 15 teamd
Chelsea CL win was a fluke, its highly unlikely we will fluke our way in to a CL tropy. we have a more realistic chance of PL title, not having any European footy gives an advantage over our rivals in PL campaign.
Atleast that seems to be the plan going by our half asssed performance yesterday

Won't be much of an advantage when City and Arsenal get dumped out in the next round.
UEFA Coefficient points are needed.
