Sherwood would have had him at Villa had he not been sacked.

I could see him going to Southampton. I think he'd do well there.
Could come back to haunt you that one.
Whoever is the highest bidder. Terrible player. If we get £10m it would be borderline fraud.
Looking forward to him inevitably scoring when he comes back to the lane
Sorta player I'd like to see at Celtic.
But with the gulf in wages between us and the English championship even these sort of moves will never happen anymore.
Which is crappy for us seeing as we'ver done well in the past with unwanted Prem players.. Sutton, Harston etc

How often does this cliche actually occur I wonder
For my tuppence worth I see him at West Bromwich, Stoke, or Everton next season if he goes.
He should really try his hand abroad though. Would improve his game immeasurably.
Reckon he will go to West Bromwich in a deal for Berahino
Headless chicken, won`t be missed. He has had plenty of chances, never going to kick on.

If I were a Saints fan I'd be underwhelmed by that signing. I mean even Stoke were able to get Shaqiri. Any team in the bottom half would be about right.
I'm not saying we shouldn't sell him if we got a decent offer for him. I don't think we play to his strengths. I would play him as an out and out left winger and concentrate on getting to the byline and putting crosses in. I can see him giving a lot of right backs a hard time.
Probably surplus to requirements for us but can see him doing it somewhere else.
I'm not writing him off just yet. There's potential there. We've now seen what Poch can do to improve individuals - absolutely no reason why, given time, Andros couldn't fly at Spurs
And yeah - what Park Lane Geezer said. Sticking him on the right doesn't suit him. He's always looked far more effective for us on the left.
west ham maybe if Chelsea recall Moses and cut a deal for Upton Park.
There is a good player in Townsend he simply does not suite our system. Play him on the left along the touch line he can do some damage. He will go on the outside on his left he won't cut inside and shoot.
He can be a top premier league player and does not get the respect he deserves. Needs confidence but when it's high he will go great guns.

I reckon stastically slightly more.
Villa or Newcastle.
LLM don't talk nonsense. He's not got the makings of a top player. He's 24 and his decision-making and execution of said decisions are atrocious, hence why his goals, assists and chances created are poor.
I don't want to hear anyone saying that he's only young etc, loads of footballers can achieve a fair amount by that age. If he's behind in his development, it's because he didn't show the promise earlier on in his career to get the game-time.
There is a player in there somewhere but it's his decision making and end product that is so poor. Shame he never kicked on. However I wish him well and he's a Spurs fan and local lad and I hope he does well. Probably couldn't squeeze 15m but could probably get 12m
Don't want berahino
"He does not get the respect he deserves..."
Sorry, but what the fack is all that about? What level of respect does he deserve exactly, and how has he earnt this level?
" headless chicken"
Totally agree sandy. Nothing against him as he's a spurs lad and I would love him to do well but let's not kid ourselves here. The guy is incredibly average.
After about a million loan moves, he had his chance under AVB 2 years ago, and to be fair he did well to begin with and echoed that in the England team. But he never built on that promising form and improved his game where it needed improving, instead frustrating everyone with poor choices.
Having said that, I do agree he should have been tried out on the left more than he has been.
I'm with Ledley. Townsend will never be a "top" player. He will be a Stewart downing sort of player who will go and spend most of his career at a smaller midtable club and never really kick on. I'm not saying he's terrible but incredibly average is best to describe him. His decision making is poor, he barely scores, he barely assists. Infact what are Townsends strengths apart from pace?
Townsend looked good for about 2 games immediately after Bale left the club. He has since proven he can't cut it in the system we employ. It's best for all parties to part ways at this point - not starting against Qara is telling for sure
