Treeburning:
Conisboro (the other place with a 'b*tthole in the link) - famous place - setting for Sir Walter Scott's 'Ivanhoe' and birthplace of legendary crooner Tony Christie.
Yorkshire has some classic names _'Blubberhouses' being just one!

I was in the Hole of Horcum on Monday, everybody had a snigger at the name. Passed by Wetwang on the way to Scarborough, made famous by the late Richard Whitely, mayor of Wetwang. My son lives near B*tt Hole Lane Conisborough. Needless to say the street name sign is the target for graffiti.
I've been a few times to Shepshed games and there 10 hardcore fans continue to sing the club song ... if you like it up the b##thole clap your hands ! ....
Was you going the long way round to Scarborough?
There's a village up near Durham called 'Pity Me' - must be a crap place to live I guess!

I think it's clear from his description he was probably in Whitby, took the Goathland road across the Yorkshire heathland which follows through the "Hole of Horcum", and as you get down towards Pickering for the Scarborough road, he will have passed through Wetwang.
All making the assumption I went there and back in one day. I only passed by Wetwang on the Howden Driffield road.
Anyway other places to make you snigger, Pratts Bottom and Cockermouth.
Winklehaid in Germany is always good for a laugh.
There's also a "Bell.End" in Northamptonshire that me and a friend stopped by on the way to Santa Pod one year!
Makes sense now Spartacus, seeing that Wetwang is on the York Brid road, don't suppose you popped into Harpers chippy, best fisn & chips for miles about.
