No. As simple as that to me. Similar to school teachers all have their favourites and methods and get defensive when challenged
Maybe some are a little beyond their sell by date, maybe some are simply going through a bad period in their careers, and maybe some are lucky they have been able to spend huge amounts, allied by this league being pretty p!$$ poor at present, in terms of their ability to keep their teams up and around the top 4.
I think Pellegrini gets too much hate tbh.. he's a good manager. Roberto Martinez is also proving Everton right in sticking by him and is on his way up
So if push comes to shove , who would you rather have ?
Poncho couldnt Beat the Worst Chelsea team of 2 Decades at Home
Nick , if we lose against Porto , you've got my vote !
it depends what yr after?
the only managers who have been able to build a long term successful (relatively for arsenal) club with an ethos and continuity, rather than quick wins built on one team, are fergie and wenger. I know people will knock arsenal's lack of titles but only one team can ever win the league and man utd, chelsea and man city have all had fantastic teams over the past ten years.
to be top four year after year, usually having to fight off a team that has spent a lot more money on players (liverpool, spurs, etc.), whilst having decent runs in three cup competitions does take some doing. yes, the stubborn attitude means wenger's sides remain vulnerable and he is many years away from the more robust sides that did win him league titles. but I suspect when he finally retires he'll be rated in the top two managers the english league has seen for years to come.
but seriously OP, I made a similar article this summer before the season even started. Makes me laugh how people defend managers and say"well you know better do you?" when 42,000 people couldnt be wrong could they? not one chelsea fan atm wants fabregas or ivanovic playing for us...ivanovic so far for me has had the worst season of any chelsea player ive seen since watching...yet mourinho cant see that?
People forget the clubs managers are personally involved and its easier to have favourites. But they are also wrong on a lot of occasions
Nick , but who can be an adequate replacement ?. Maybe the bull from the Pampas , another Diego ! I'm sure that he would kick a few asses !
its not a case of whose an adequate replacement, its a case of mourinho pulling his finger out and opening his eyes. if not simeone, hiddink, hell even gary monk although struggling at swansea, F it, get fergie back for a year
Fergie , always had a soft spot for Chelsea !
