Also if there are any Saffers supporters here, fear not. I'll be the voice of doom for the English fans with this stat

England have only won one series in the last 11 years after winning the opening test away from home.

England are looking well set with Jimmy reportedly coming back.

But you just never know....

Another lovely cricketing surprise to wake up to, thought we'd have them 6 or 7 down by now not 9

Nearly there lads

brilliant win today.. Need to keep it going.. England have a tendency to lose the next game after winning the previous.. Finn looked back to his best.. Not seen him bowl that well for a while.
And ive never quite understood some peoples dislike of Broad.. His record over the last 3 years is up there with the very best..

Hello maf , seasons greetings to you and hope you have a good new year.

Only 2 days until the 2nd test and hopefully jimmy is fit

And also hope for Captain Cook to score some runs

Cook to score some runs, & our top bowler back.. Happy times.

there is a slight debate whether Anderson will play tomorrow.. No brainer hes gotta..Looking at the pitch plenty of grass on it and a bit cracked..

posted on 1/1/16

Stick with unchanged team. There's obviously a doubt over Andersons fitness so leave him until the 3rd test. Then again if England go 2-0 up you can't pick anderson for the 3rd test.

theres no real doubt over Anderson hes running free of injury.. Its cooks silly captaincy again. You take a 95% fit anderson over 1 wicket a test match Woakes anyday..

From all reports cracks on the pitch already..with the hot sun beating down on the wicket.. the cracks will open.. be very difficult to bat in the second half of the game.. all down to England need 300+ at least... lets do this.

Hales gone. Well bowled from Morkel, found a bit of extra bounce which takes the edge.

Good partnership from these but I think we will be dissppointed with the lost wickets.

Ball is coming into the bat beautifully, can't see us getting 20 wickets on this pitch.

Would much rather have the runs on the board, Neo.

475 would be a par score under usual conditions but the fact there's cracks in he pitch and the South African batting line up I think we'll be happy so long as we get to 400.

South African strategy of bowling very short against bairstow and stokes not working... So why persist with it. Ridiculous

posted on 2/1/16

Stokes doing good today.. he looks great when he comes off.. cant grumble about his battng this innings..

posted on 2/1/16

That's how stokes and bairstow play in that middle order.....England scored 76 in the 1st session, 91 in the second and 150 in the third. Sort of how this team is set up..

Amla is absolutely useless as a captain.

Five wickets down and he brings on the donkeys.

Must be political.

over rates are a joke in modern day cricket.. 27 overs were bolwed by the slow bolwers and SA still didnt manage to get thier overs in.. even with the extra half an hour on top.
