Someone like Aduriz perhaps

Or Milik, the Polish lad.

Arro - I think the lad Milik was linked with us for around £10m last month and only young, 21 I think? Might be a reasonable option.

I thought Ulloa did ok last night especially considering the holding he had to put up with whenever the ball came to him, how he only got one foul all night I don't know.

I think he's incredibly important to the team, as has been mentioned not least for his defensive abilities, he seems to get more headers in then our two centre halfs at set pieces.

Ulloa is a definite important part of the team. He doesn't need to score much if his partner is slamming them in. He will get the odd goal.

I think the search should be for a Vardy back up, rather than a partner.

Leo dropped to his knees at the final whistle last night thought he put in a right shift for us.i know what you mean not very mobile but does have a good touch I don't know what's happening with krammy I did have high hopes but can't be doing much in training as he's not even making the bench.

Having said that, that's not going to be easy

Good points...

Schlupp - think this is ok when Vards is on fire but he just simply can't keep this up. When injuries/dip in form inevitably come, I'd be concerned with what we currently have to fill the gap.

Milik is a Vardy replacement but then so is Okazaki. We haven't even seen him in his preferred position yet. Remeber how Vardy got on out wide? Well same for Okazaki now. Stick him in the no.9 role and he'll score, it's not like he misses many chances, he doesn't get them because he's not in the position to and thats because he's being played out of position.

I also agree with how important Ulloa is for his defensive capabilities too. He'll score goals if he's the central point of our attack like he was last season. He should have scored a couple more but I'm confidejt with him in the team.

We and other clubs fans and pundits alike are pretty much thinking the exact same thing. But we won't really know how it will go until it happens. For example if Okazaki would do a Vardy job, given his position and freedom

Leicester will be lucky to stay up this season, terrible team

Should've gotten Wilson on loan from us.

I think we can do much better than Ulloa given where we are in the table coming up to Jan. I'm not sure I would say he is incredibly important to the team as he's only been in the starting line up fairly recently and we've been accumulating plenty of points without him.

Okazaki is better in terms of link up with Vardy and drops into the midfield but he doesn't have the defensive and physical qualities of Ulloa. He's kind of becoming the new Nugent really. Some think he's vital, others scratch their heads when he fluffs a sitter.

I want a strike partner who is going to support Vards, drop into midfield and has the energy to last 90 mins convincingly. If we want an ariel presence, there are plenty across Europe (Andy delort being one of them) who could do a job...

More goals for Charlie Austin tonight.

Just saying ....

Would love Austin!

Obviously Austin is a goal scorer, and he can compete physically. But is he mobile enough, does he work hard enough, does he contribute enough off in build-up?

I'm not meaning to accuse here, these are genuine questions to anyone who might know.

More mobile than Ulloa from what I saw last season although Ulloa has the better first touch. Works his socks off too, but he is the main talisman at QPR, not really one to drop back into midfield I don't think

Then again, neither is Ulloa really, Okazaki plays the deep lying forward role better and makes it a 5 in midfield when required. It's a shame he's only 4 foot

All good comments. To summarise:

Ulloa is good defensively against big teams. He can drop in and support the midfield as he showed on Monday but it's not really his job. Keep.

Vardy. Keep.

Okazaki. Could step in and do Vardy's job. I've seen enough from him to believe he could do a very good job in Vardy's role, and he's our best link up striker to play just behind him. Absolutely keep.

Krammy. Just doesn't seem to be getting a look in and has looked bereft of confidence when he has started. Verdict - let's swap him for Austin in Jan 😉

I would love Austin but there is no chance in January, he was 100% clear last night he is staying at QPR to the end of the season!

^ all the more reason to sign him in the summer, great attitude and loyal 👍

posted on 16/12/15

If we sign anyone in Jan they have to be ready to step up straight away playing in the premiership.

Youngsters in the summer.

Austin wouldn't be the right choice for a partner for Vardy, a replacement off the bench or when Vardy is injured/needs a rest, yes. Ings would have been perfect for you, perhaps even Callum Wilson.

Looks like we are lining up a couple of striking targets from Ligue 1 so I think it is a pressing concern.

Nev makes a very good point, the club needs to learn from last January when they signed Kramaric, a player with potential, but hardly what we needed when bottom of the table. He had never played in this division and is still learning.

I would still prefer us to bolster the defensive options including competition for Kapser
