Great first episode. Set the tone and the feel of what to expect. Felt very much like Star Wars and it's clear that they are relying on viewers having prior knowledge of Star Wars lore, which I personally love. The ending was very interesting. 7/10.

Yep felt very Star Wars but though the CGI was a tad off but hopefully gets better as it goes.

Story wise very interesting.

Why is it not available in the UK? Disney+ is out now?

I enjoyed the episode a lot, wasn't too sure at the start but it really gripped me more and more as it went on

Disney + not available until March here.

Sky has the contracts to most of the Disney stuff here until then.

Obviously thought people wouldn’t want to pay until the had a full catalog of stuff

Ah bummer, I just assumed it would be the same worldwide.

Could just get it with a VPN though if you're worried about quality?

I just watched through my plex server. Full 1080p so no problem for me.

I just want D+ for the ease of having everything in one nice UI.

Yeah it is good, not quite Netflix UI quality but there's already a lot of good stuff on it.

Are the episodes an hour each like most series?

posted on 13/11/19

Bit risky not releasing it in UK until 4 or 5 months later. Lots of people will have seen it before it is available here and won't be so tempted to pay the subs.

Think the first episode was 39 mins Mike.

True DJ, I just guess they're banking on having a lot more original series' by then? I'm not sure when Kenobi or the Marvel stuff is coming out

Solid episode. Enjoyed it a lot and I thought pretty much everything about it was on point. Plus you can never go wrong with a bit of Taika Waititi. Good start for Disney +.

I know this is a StarWars spoiler thread, but is it going to be a Mandalorian spoiler free zone until after the UK release (for those of us that won't be streaming it) or not?

If so, I'll see you all next year
----------------------------------------------------------------------

just out of curiosity - why won't you stream it ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I just never think it's as good, quality wise, and have plenty of other things still to watch at the moment so no real urgency (however much I'm looking forward to it).

I spent a fair bit on a great TV set, decent size, decent sound system etc. I like to get the most out of it so I won't bother watching it on a stream even if it's acceptable quality.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Caved in and watched it already 😂

Really enjoyed it though, felt like Star Wars should.

I don't think it's a relative of Yoda but it's of the same species and possibly force sensitive. Opens up several avenues if they introduce the force into the show and hopefully they reference the events of episode 4-6 at some point because this show is 5 years after ROTJ.

Who is not relative of mine?

Don't recall, musth have been a poor bang then

Bit of a conflict of interest for me, I reckon i’ll see Mando soon enough at work. But most probably still get Disney+ when it drops in March.
Staying away from spoilers... well trying to anyway ( as he posts on a spoiler thread duh)
Gonna flip the other way and watch the Godfather saga...

I've read somewhere that the species is highly force sensitive but they've not gone into the background during the movies.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Apparently Lucas made it impossible for people to discuss the species back when he owned the company, but now he doesn't and has been consulted on filming this series, so will be interesting to see what he was thinking

Honestly, it'd be nice if we could leave the force out of this one. At least, lets not make it any large piece of the story line.

Bounty hunters, the remnants of the empire, the wild west lawlessness. That'll keep me happy.

Don't imagine we'll get that, especially with Chapter One ending on a supposedly very force sensitive species.
