We not down yet We are not down until we're down. We keep fighting.
Newcastle have good players, so they say, but it hasn't helped them over the last two or three years. Coloccini is past his best. Krul is injured. The pressure will be on them at least as much as us.
Even if we lose we're not down Believe!
Could not think of a worse time to face Newcastle to be honest. Confidence will be really high and with the geordies behind them i fear yet another defeat for us. You have to ask where the next win is coming from. Any team would relish playing Villa at the moment. Our defence is liable to capitulate at any given time and we dont score goals. What would give a team reason to worry !!??!!
Agree both of you but we need a miracle run and hope that three of Sunderland Norwich Bournemouth and Swansea bottle it......which is still possible although a long shot. We need to start winning games quickly.

I cant see any way Villa can stay up now. Not really.
Even if you get 7 points in the next 3 games, you still probably wont stay up. Not with the fixtures you still have to play.
Having said that, whatever slimslim chance you do have, winning has to start very soon - and I can see it starting against a lacklustre Newcastle tomorrow.
3 points for the Villa. At last.
People are saying 7 points from the next 3 games .. I struggle to see where the next win is coming from. I dont blame Garde although he wasn't my prefered choice but the players just are not good enough for this league. Yes some of the French players maybe slightly improving game by game but in my view its too late. We have nobody who can score goals and we are a total joke at the back. Tell me how that bodes for the forthcoming fixtures !!!
We have players who can score goals, Ayew, Sinclair and even Gestede. The problem we have is creating them. That's down partly to teamwork. But if Glealish or Gil hit top form it could make a huge difference. It's that sharpness to the buildup in the final third we're missing.

What a bunch of passionless, apathetic, effortless players we have. Shocking to watch and to think this is an Aston Villa side. Even in the past when we had weak players and lacked quality, the players at least tried. This bunch of players look like they've all smoked a load of drugs before going on the pitch.
It's pathetic how every week the same old crap is seen. Bournemouth have pretty much a Championship team and still do attack and try to win. It's an absolute joke to be honest that these players call themselves footballers.
Traore has to play. He is one of the few Villa players who has skill and pace and isnt afraid to use them!
Newcastle are awful but we are so much worse agree totally with 87 especially about bournemouth.
Lets hope it pisses down even harder although it may prolong agony replaying it
Baggies down to 10 and lose Norwich win at manure.....couldn't get worse
Whatever happens the villa fight is back
Have to say, Villa are playing exceptionally well tonight, especially 2nd half.
There seems to be a lot of purpose and passion within the team for a change. And they've had 3 or 4 good changes to grab all 3 points. Even Gestede has looked pretty dangerous in the air.
The appalling conditions haven't helped Villa's cause much, but at least they're playing like a team rather than a bunch of lost individuals!
Villa played 2nd half with some style and passion.
1 point not enough though.
Down for sure.
1st half - both sides were awful, but we were much better after the break. Ayew was excellent, both in terms of work rate and quality; his goal was excellent.
Defensively we were ok. Lescott and Okore played well together.
Our weakness today was the midfield; Sanchez, Westwood and Gana were awful. I think with Gestede, Sinclair and Ayew we can get goals, but they need better support from midfield.
Ok, the conditions were bad, but I lost count the number of time Sanchez gave the ball away. He is just awful.
Much better 2nd half and Ayew particularly looked as though he cared and has some quality. Fantastic goal. 1 point is not enough though and at the end we didn't even flood the box, seemingly content with a point.
We have to try to spend our way out of this in January, even if we are probably down. Too many poor players in the team and we need more quality to give us s chance.
Gil, Grealish and Trapre are effectively being ignored by Remi Garde and he has to give them more game time. Ridiculous that not one of them came on today after we equalised, they may have made the God damn difference.
Gang want bad, Westwood and Sanchez were indeed awful, Hutton wasn't great either. Thought Ayew put in a very good shift, cracking goal

1 pt away from home isnt as bad as you say, need to start winning at home tho
We aren't down. Only a point but under the conditions I'll settle for that; it's a huge lot better than a loss. That second half performance shows the team are fighting. Maybe Garde is getting somewhere. Maybe we can start grabbing a decent haul of points.
Admire your optimism but, statistically (not mathematically obviously) it takes 7 games to catch up 10 points.
That would take Villa until... Played 25. Just to reach the very edge of the relegation zone.
And any bad run after that would just about see you off.
You've got to get 8/9 points from the next 12 realistically to have any hope of survival.
24 not 25.
And of course there are always outliers to any statistics. Villa could do it quicker than that.
(OTOH they could take a lot longer than that...).
