I think Bates is slipping some sort of hallucinogenic
in the manager's tea pot. It's a theory I know. But, I can
think of no other rational reason?

You can bet he did. Bates never misses a chance to fleece those closest to him.

No chance Lancashire. They will be supermarket own brand. No way will Bates or SG pay for the upper end of the market no matter what they buy.

I'll tell you how this one keeps positive, Leeds United is my football club. I will go and see whoever pulls on the shirt and I will support the club, the players and the management whoever they may be.

I am fortunate that I support such a great football club.

That's what keeps me happy.

However I am jealous of clubs throwing money at players. I want us to buy three players.

Furthermore I think that 'some' of the 'Leeds fans' are poisonous in their scribblings on this site and believe they are intentionally so. I think these 'Leeds fans' are what you or I would call wum's. Some I call dreary and repetitive, not that we've had any of that yesterday or today, no siree! We've had wonderful balanced comments since the sale of ahem, you know who. None of that has been depressing has it?

Eric - I take my hat off to you! I appreciate the reasons for you being positive. I wouldn't question anybody for being positive if we had the points to be at the top end of the table but the sad reality is we don't.

Que, the argument that it is only very early days. Again that would be reasonable given some significant investment in the squad. You can probably see where this is going...

I'll always be a massive fan of our club and despite what happens on the pitch I will always back the lads. I just think that the signs are there that we are going seriously backwards under Bates and I find it tough to jump on the Sunshine float no matter what happens.

MOT.

Leeds' situation is quite different from West Ham's. We were relegated because we had an incompetent manager. Our squad in the Premiership was actually very good. Even with the numerous departures we've since had, we still have a squad that has a good chance of going up. Thus, it's easier to attract players from the Premiership.

Leeds have a Championship-quality squad. Gradel was your best player. No quality player wants to move down a division to a club which they feel doesn't have a good chance of going up.

Thankfully our history is different too.

Thanks for acknowledging that you had an incompetent manager too.

We're a Championship squad in the Championship, your club have players that saw themselves as Championship players last season or they'd have tried a bit harder to stay up!

(As I understand it a lot of Premier League clubs thought you had Championship players too)

Eric: It's common knowledge that Avram Grant was slightly worse than useless. West Ham had quality players. Unfortunately, they couldn't be motivated enough to play for him. Had we changed manager in January, we'd still be in the Premiership.

At the end of the day, players don't look at a club's history. They just want to play in the Premiership. That's why the likes of Wigan will be able to attract better players than great clubs like Leeds and West Ham.
