So he won't become our Zidane then........?

Well bang goes our Title Hopes

Bumble you're doing better than we are, not saying much I know but ...

He might come into his own with you who knows, but for us he was all promise and no delivery. I can remember a few good games for us but that was over a long period.

Good luck though.

He hasn't been in the first team for so long I have genuinely forgotten about him.

He ranges from average to good with most of his time spent in the average department.

Not a terrible player, not a great player. Top work ethic but doesnt have the vision to become a top 6 player

Sad to see him leave as he's been the perfect squad player for a while and happy to play that role. Always unfazed coming on against whoever in whatever circumstances...unfortunately quite often average though as people have said.

He's a useful enough one to have around the squad I reckon, but in no way a certain starter.

I wish him luck and would love him to fulfil the potential that's clearly there but never been reached

An average player that gives 100%, he makes most of his passes sideways and backwards with very few successfully forward. Given a run in a team he would do a decent job, and may well succeed..... but I doubt that will ever be at Spurs.

on his day i think he is up there with some of the best

unfortunately his day is 1 in 10 games

could have been a real gem of a player but just never found any consistency which is a shame

I still don't get why we're only loaning him. A loyal servant but time to move on methinks

Agree with bales left boot. Why on earth ate we loaning him out? Surely his wages aren't that big a strain. He's been a decent servant for us but not at the level we aspire to be at. Time to move him on.

When you leave things to the last minute, the buyer is in the drivers seat I would imagine with the loanees. Grrrr.

Presumably because a) no-one wanted to buy him outright, but if he has a good season and regular football they might, b) it'll save us a fortune on his (by our standards) pretty decent wages, c) he wasn't going to play this season so would be better for us if he's in the shop window elsewhere, etc

i still think he has a lot to offer and realise im in the minority of spurs fans - my mother is a forest fan and was happy for me as a spurs fan when we signed him from Newcastle

he could find his form again (and some consistancy!) and come back and be a very good player for us

its deadline day - im full of optimism!

Sounds like it could be a good deal for both clubs.

==============================

That sums him up for me. He wouldnt be a disaster signing, belongs in the Prem but unlikely to ever get man of match award.
