looks good but will he be able to take the pressure of playing for a title chasing team? I don't know

I just logged on to ask this question.

If he can be second in the top scorers list with Watford he should be able to top it with us and the chances our team create. A decent offer would probably be too much for Watford to turn down and he wil relish the chance of a CL club, so yes, I think hes worth a punt. Even losing him for ACON is manageable.

I want us to sign any striker that can score goals.

His style reminds me of Samuel Eto'o somewhat and he looks like a player who would score goals at whatever team he played for, good enough for us? Not sure but if it was a choice between getting him or no one I wouldn't be too disappointed.

Man...definitely reminds me of E'too a bit. Just deceptively strong.

I love Giroud and Theo, but with them, it's either one thing or another. It would be nice to be able to mix our approaches without telegraphing it to opponents based on whether Giroud or Theo is on the pitch.

What a season this is. Vardy, Mahrez, Stoke (can't believe I said that), watford, crystal Palace and of course Chelsea and United!

Jut done the youtube scouting bit and in the few minutes I watched I'd say the quality of his touch is not quite the level that we are used to at Arsenal but he makes up for it with a cool head and getting a shot off in the right place to beat the keeper. The way he bullies defenders reminds me a bit of Drogba as well.

Players like this you have to see if they can do it for more than a season. Remember Hoilett, Zaki, Papiss Cosse, Michu and many more. All of those went through a patch where they looked unstoppable. If Igahlo is still doing the same thing this time next year then we should definitely take a look

We need someone now and its a reasonable shout that we would get him. Who else could we get better? He is proven in the PL as well.

You got rooney your best player as your striker why would u need anybody else?

Wasn't Ighalo the top scorer for Watford last season? Or was he second to Deeney? Either way, he had a good season last time out and seems to have made the step up. At 26, hitting his peak years and at 15 to 20 mill, would be worth a punt. Especially if we she'd some deadwood (Arteta, Rosicky, maybe Flamini if Elneny is a cert.)

Shaqiri has impressed in the games I saw. Have not seen too many Stoke games though. Stoke with Arnautovic, Shaqiri, Bojan and Affelay have a young and exciting attack.

Martial will come good if played at the top. Your issues stem from the lack of creativity. With the players you do have, that is a crime. Issue (in my humble opinion) is tactics that van Gaal is forcing on the team.

I'm sure Watford would be delighted to sell him in January

posted on 28/12/15

He's not good, half his goals have been deflections or predatory finishes, he's had a totally inconspicous career playing in top leagues until he went to Championship with Watford.

posted on 28/12/15

His run of form reminds me of Demba Cisse's first half a season at Newcastle, or Jelavic's run of form for Everton

posted on 28/12/15

When I say predatory finishes I mean oppurtunistic finishes 2 yards from goal after a goul mouth scramble, those types of finishes

posted on 28/12/15

You have to be careful with these types of players. Against Arsenal he was poverty. But as TBK says his quality of goals aren't top standards.
Someone like Lukaku who has been doing it for quite some time, and maybe even Vardy who's shown himself to be lethal finisher. That's the type of players worth a punt on.

Wenger won play the money that Leicester would want for Vardy...or Lukaku for that matter from Everton. We will only get players with the potential to reach the op but once Wenger gets their hands on them they never seem to reach that any more, just pick up long term injuries.

Said it before and I'll say it again, he plays like a rhinoceros on skates.

No doubting he's in great form though

You have ot be i the right place to finish those chances. I've just been debating on the match thread that Giroud does not get into those positions enough, Theo had more chances in 10 mins than Giroud in 80, because Theo got in the right places and Giroud is too slow to.

And another thing, with Ozil to create chances you dont need to do much more than be in the right place for him to pass to.
