when Levy and Lewis took over they implemented a plan to spend bundles on youth.......Its all coming together mow and the England u17s normally has 4 5 or 6 spurs starters in it

Sandy was there then.

Perryman, Hoddle, Campbell, King I think were all with us at youth level.

Ray Evans, John Pratt, Barry Daines, Jimmy Neighbour, Jimmy Pearce, Phil Beale,Steve Perryman, these are a few I remember from the late 60's & 70's era.

In our current team I can only think of Kane, Townsend and Carroll who actually came through our youth system. The rest were bought young and developed.

Hoddle joined the club way back in the early 70's as a schoolboy apprentice, never played for Watford.

Made his debut aged 17!!
