Love a gk who can catch a ball, command his area (the whole penalty area, Mig struggles to command his 6 yard box) and can actually kick a football.
I doubt we'll be signing a player who will be thirty two just after the season ends.
I wish we'd have signed Butland and loaned him out, plenty of clubs would have taken him after the initial loans back to Birmingham or another Champ club. 3.5m stoke got him for in the end after rejecting double that from Southampton i think, hes still only 22... He showed his potential at Birmingham.
I dont think 32 is old for a keeper who is proven world class. It didn't stop arsenal buying one and how long had they been needing a great keeper and what a difference Cech has made to them this season.
I believe Handanovic would be the same for us.
Butland is def a good shout.Agree we should have signed him from Birmingham and when he played for GB at the olympics, but its the same with dele alli, someone we had tracked tor ages but let slip to another team. Both of whom have been fantastic this season, and got into the full england squad.
I'd be happy with Butland but I can't see us spending a huge amount on a keeper when we've got a keeper who is good enough, with other areas needing more urgent improvement.
I believe the keeper is an area for urgent improvement. If a player/keeper is into the last 6 months of their contract and can improve us,i say try to sign up for a nominal fee or a pre contract for summer.
we should find a highly talented young keeper and loan him out or devolop him ourselves, similar to Chelsea did with Courtois.

i agree a keeper can help out the defence hugely just by giving them the confidence through the communication/leadership/command Mig so often lacks. But Migs improved and still is and although i think needs replacing can do a job, not sure if doing a jobs gd enough for us though.
Handanovic fits all the above criteria of Inbefore and would be much less in price than say Butland,as much as i rate Butland, who i believe is one of the top three keepers in the premiership along with De Gea and Cech at this time.

I certainly wouldn't be against it but I think the decision makers might be. Although considering it would be a free transfer, they may allow it. I suppose it depends on whether Klopp sees that as an area he wants to strengthen. His comments to the press suggest it isn't but then who says what they really think to the press nowadays?

That's prime for a goalkeeper. Especially Handanovic, who is class and was my pick for a replacement if De Gea left us. Would be a great signing for you lot.
Butland and Forster are two that clubs missed out on.
Would have loved either at Goodison
Ward at Aberdeen is looking better than I thought he would. 11 clean sheets this season alone.
If it's clean sheets we need, and we do desperately need a keeper... We should just look at whoever got the most clean sheets in the last calendar year!!
That would be one Simon mignolet of... Oh... Erm... Liverpool!
With Rodgers defence in front of him
Goalkeeper really isn't that much of a worry at the moment. We have much more important areas that need strengthening like in the central midfield area.

full back where we only have moreno and Clyne meaning they cannot be rested properly is pressing
In midfield we have lucas Allen and milner as backupto Hendo and can.
We could use some variety in our attackers, lallana is a prime candidate for losing his starting 11 berth. Origi and ibe both have great potential. Benteke is a 1 in 2 l, Sturridge is a 20 goals a season striker, Ings will be back at some point and deserves a chance.
Origi and Ibe are also great backup to play behind the striker, and we have Canos and Kent impressing on loan who are probably 1/2 years away from a regular squad place, we won't add without offloading to my mind. And it will be hard to improve on our current starting 11 (lovren sakho cb partnership)
Lallana is probably the only starting player worth replacing and it would need to be of star/potential star quality , and replacing Allen/milner with a cm to push can/Hendo, preferably equally/more physical!!
And as said before the only area of the squad we lack adequate backup is full back.
Also don't forget we spent a lot in the summer and have ffp to think about.
