Shame to say that you're most definitely down. Even when we looked dead and buried we showed fight. I think it could do your club wonders to go down and have a clear out. Did us no harm when we dropped into League One.
I'm starting to almost feel sorry for Villa.
This clown, Garde, looks even worse than DimTim
I'm trying to remember the last time the defence was actually good. Must be a few years ago now It's been very dodgy in most matches this season. It's not the fault of recruiting young, somewhat inexperienced foreign talent because the core of the defence is British and experienced
I wouldn't say it's got worse; it's just very bad. Why Wrong personnel, I reckon. Richards should be nowhere near the centre of the defence. He hasn't got the right mindset for it and never while. It's no accident that we were somewhat better when he was injured. I think he affects other defenders negatively. The defence has to be a cohesive unit; they work for each other, cover others backs, and it needs communication and leadership. He doesn't fit.
Think Remi is going to have to take some radical action. Lescott has improved since a shaky start (possibly caused by working alongside Richards), Okore is good (even with the occasional misjudgement), and Clark I think needs a decent run in the side. They can all be part of the defence squad. We need more. If we're building for the future bring back Donacien and try him; the odd time I've seen him I've been impressed. But the current defensive set up can't continue.
Never understand why you went for the unknown Garde rather than Pearson to be honest. And thats not being biased, he creates great team spirit and has been in a numbet of relegation fights in his career with a great deal of success.
Not Gardes fault the players he inherited are sheite
Yep Pearson was my choice !! We will never know if it would have made a difference but Garde to me seems so passionless. In a blood and thunder relegation battle he was never going to be the right man to lead us out of it !!

Its sad mate but whether I watched live or Soccer Saturday I was worked up and miserable and angry when we lost......but now have no feelings.
Still want us to win and be succesful......but it is soul destroying to watch us at the moment.
Heisy, do you think we should let them beat us at our place? It would give them 11 points to at least match Derby.

Nope....
We need 14 more points and there's 3 of them right there!
I agree about the young players. Fact is the squad as currently put out isn't going to get us anywhere. What we need for the rest of the season it to start building a squad for the future. I don't mean throw everybody in at once. But everything should go towards building that new team.
I think the squad needs to be divided into three (in our minds, if not in fact):
a) those who we really want to keep because they give us enough and represent (hopefully) our future.
b) those who we might not be over the moon about but are worth keeping to bolster the squad (and because there are limits to how many players we can or should get in)
c) those who don't do it for us, for one reason or another, who we need to replace asap.
The first group we need to (possibly will be lots of these), and then divide the rest into your 3 groups.

Don't know the story behind Senderos because he's looked solid before his injury, but he obviously has no future. I'd go with that list; I reckon getting a good defensive midfielder instead of Sanchez is one priority, and a proper striker to replace Gestede is the other. Plus I don't want Richards near central defence so he might be in (b) or (c).
I meant to say: draw a line through those players who don't want to stay before we allocate what's left into your 3 groups McP. Must have been under the influence.
