Our biggest problems are in midfield for me.
The defence is fine for the moment, yes it's not great by any stretch of the imagination but every other match they are putting in a cohesive performance and it's mainly down to this that we are scraping the odd win.
Biggest problem is in midfield. Even in the games when we are winning we are often getting outfought and outmuscled. We desperately need to get in at least one central midfielder that can be strong physically, tackle and pass well.
In January i'd say that's the only area we can realistically majorly improve.
We have serious problems up front which will have to wait until the summer. Either we persist with Benteke and look to bring in a couple of wide forwards that suit his style or we will have to bench/sell him and rebuild.
Personally I think he's a class player and he's done well given the garbage service he gets every week from the consistently woeful performances of Firmino and Lallana, but whether he does suit the style we want to play is questionable.
In all honesty if love benteke at Spurs. 30+ million was a bit steep but that aside I'd love him at Spurs. I think he would flourish in our set up. He would probably have to put a shift in though
I think it's the utter lack of desire that winds me up most from Benteke. I doubt he even broke a sweat today. Such a limp performance from somebody who's made a name for himself by being a powerful centre forward.
When is Origi back?

If true bid now. The guy runs scraps and can score
I don't think Benteke suits your set up, but yes your midfield isn't that good either.
As TKT often mentions, Sturridge is a huge miss because his quality and style enhances the performance of your midfield.
Jurgen bombed out 17 players in his first summer at dortmund...
Is that true T Bone? If so I can see a similar cull at anfield.
Yep and that needs happening here. Is keep around 6 players and would dump the rest. They do not have the winning fighting mentality needed
Did he do that though? How many were out of contract?
It's pretty hard to make comparisons with Liverpool as well because where Dortmund were at the time they didn't have hundreds of millions in assets on the books like you do, so they are a lot easier to simply discard.
I think it's time some of those "assets" are written off under disposals Darren
Yeah, but you know what I mean? Liverpool's owners are business men and won't want to write off so many as a loss.
That's what will happen given the initial price of some of the players plus what they could command in the transfer market in their current form.
I just sliced cucumber, tomato and mozzarella wah-fair thin
then chopped fresh basil finely and added cornish sea salt and ground black pepper
then layered in the basilsaltpepper inbetween each wafer
then drizzled extra virgin olive oil, one drop of worcestershire and some balsamic vinegar on each stack
which is miles better than a chunk of tomato, one basil leaf, and cheese drowned in vinegar
yum
We may need players this month, but I seriously doubt we will get them.
Sturridge and Ings are huge losses this season but they are still Liverpool players so I can't see our owners bringing in a striker.
Cover/competition for Moreno and maybe a WF or a keeper are slim possibilities but the fact is I expect us to do little business in this windows as quality is hard to find and more expensive as its mid season.
Apart from the cups this season is a right off unless Stur4idge and Henderson return quickly to top fitness and form, which in reality is probably a pipe dream. We need our strikers back and an overhaul in the summer.
