Bentaleb has been playing shiiite recently, so no guarantee he'd be a better pick, whether more physical or not.

Yeh you guys are right, he does pull out of tackles Eriksen don't he

To be fair not sure we should be slating any of the team, whom I thought all put in a decent shift and that included both Eriksen and Caroll. Son though was very poor when he came on, but he did score the winner last week, so I am not moaning at him too much.

Bentaleb just needs to knuckle down and cut out the showboating. If he keeps the game simple when he's in our half and saves the clever stuff until he's over the half way line he would be giving Dembele a run for his money.

Record the game and study Eriksen. He not only bottles tackles but he hides and "pretends" when he close down.

Cheating good for eff all muppet, especially when the others are at least giving it 100% it infuriates me. He gave the goal away today cos he was scared of taking a whack in the back.

Bentaleb seems to have dropped right off the radar. Probably been moaning like Townsend.

That's bolloxs. Spurs should have been out of sight in the first half,Everton were the better side in the second."

Not being funny mate but you are at home. Spurs were hardly going to keep up that sort of intensity through the whole 90 mins. We dominated you 1st half and should of been 2-0 up atleast. 2nd half you come back into it I agree but if you evaluate both halves then spurs edged it. Anyway I think it's a good point for us.

I agree, but Sandy Bolloxs claims Spurs dominated for 80 mins.

Sandy its not slating its looking for weaknesses and wanting to correct them. Thats what great sides do, thats what Bill Nick done every year he was with us

Struggle to get in tune with the game very quickly. Chadli has an excuse as such as he's been out for a while (he needs a game vs Leicester in the cup), but what was Son's excuse? Looked sloppy and off the pace when he came on.

Been a while since I saw a game with Bentaleb where he wasn't giving the ball away too cheaply. There's a reason he's dropped down the pecking order, aside from injury.

No doubt he will get his chance again, just as Dembele and Carroll have, and when he does he'll need to perform better.

Grandspur, I will have to look into him now more mate. You not a fan of Eriksen? I'm a big fan and think he's absolute quality when he wants to be but also equally very frustrating at times and goes missing far to often. I still think we are better with Eriksen in the team rather than not

Study Eriksen when you get the chance to watch the full game again (not the highlights) he pretends to close players down staying a good yard or two off of them. He gets rids of the ball double lively when he is closed putting others in trouble normally and he bottles tackles big time.

Study the game away to Palace last season when we lost 2-1 after being a goal up. Him bottling a tackle lost us that game and I dont care how much ability a player has IMO if he is not prepared to get hurt he should not pull a kit on.

he usually does. is he incapable of not losing the ball whenever he gets it?

I agree with grand spurs about eriksen.

What I notice about him is that when things are going well he is up for the game starts getting involved, movement is more intense and calls for the ball. When things are not going well he hides, shirks and he is naturally lazy. He is always naturally lazy pressing is not suited to his style of play.

That being said he performed far different today and pressed very well during the game. He showed a type of energy I personally had never seen from him during a game.

Think a few of the Recently injured players need a good 90 mins full blood game under there belts

Mason, Bentaleb, Chadli & Son all have to play Fa cup game from the start IMO

Still never hit a tackle and bottled it to give away the goal tho

my 2p

*great entertainment
*draw was fair - Spurs bossed the 1st half, Everton the second
*The pressing is fantastic, Everton couldn't get out of their half
*you burned out in the second half, no one can keep that up for over 60 mins max, maybe just a half
*you look a settled and gelled side
*you look ripe to get bummed on the counter, everyone is far forward but 2
*Either Barry had an off day or he's done, put a fork in him
*Alli looked really good
*So did Lennon, had a point to prove

Overall a good way to use 2 hours, thanks. I like the result too

Performances like today's from him won't put any pressure on Eriksen, who underwhelmed again.

Really ? Yes we did boss the first half but 2nd half it was even, Everton certainly didn't boss any half today.

I'm a City fan so may not be welcome, but I think a draw was a fair result, and I for one see you as our main competition for the PL. I might be wrong but I think Arsenal's impending CL exit will signal the start of their annual collapse and Spurs seem to have a settled and balanced team which can take advantage.

We need Kompany back, together with Aguero properly back if we are to remain ahead of you.

Son rarely looks good coming off the bench - looks much better when he starts and can get a feel for the game.

To be fair, he is still getting used to Spurs and English football.

posted on 3/1/16

All in all a decent point, one which I would have settled for prior to the game, one which we at very least deserved.

I would like to see Son started on the left whenever Davies starts at LB to be honest, I think it would give the side a better balance.
