Some of us have always backed the manager cos we understand it's a tough job that will take time... We're still in a difficult period but we need to stay positive and back the managerial team....
Be careful have you generalize...
Difficult job or not that run was completely unacceptable.
It still is - the poster above maybe uber positive but nothing is tough about having a war chest to spend, getting rid of certain players who could have helped the manager who have also gone on to do well.
You realise that was our first win since the Watford game which I think was the 21st Nov? For a team of our stature and with the resources we have its not good enough hence why some fans have not 'backed the manager.'
It shouldn't be a relief to scrape a win at home against a team in shocking form. Unfortunately some united fans have lowered their expectations so much that we now celebrate a last min win with relief rather than comfort.
Definitely felt good to win though. Id almost forgotten what is was like to score a goal, nevermind win a game.
It's practically the Arsenal board these days.
Many believe he should have gone by now, with very few arguing he should get more time to turn things around. I don't think anything has changed there.
The problem is, no matter how many people on here shout 'LVG out' it won't influence anything as it appears the club either can't find a suitable replacement, already have one lined up for the summer or have faith in LVG turning things around.
Believe you me, it hasn't changed. It has calmed down. You wait and see if we draw our next game 😂
Why does it make fans fickle? The run he was on was disgraceful. A scraped win against a side in as poor a form as we were is no reason to think all is good. Loads of the same problems are there.
If we don't win our next two games he should still go.
Robb still it could be worse our run looks good compared to Liverpool I know Klopp Liverpool gained 1 point on us so far but considering how bad our run, it is funny. I said it before Brendan Rodgers is a much better manager then Klopp. I honestly don't get why Klopp is rated so highly, his sides usually are great at counter attacking but his sides rarely are good at finishing or defending as a team overall.
Weird thing is we went on this type of run twice last season on a bigger scale I am suprised the media are making a big deal this time
Last season we ended the season with 5 points from 6 games against easy teams and in our last 6 league games this season we have also taken 5 points or be it is more like 6 points from 7 games that is the issue.
Last season we started off with 10 games and 13 points as well

----------------------------------------------------------------------
The relative quiet on the board started before the Swansea win. There was a slow realisation that if he was gonna go it would have been after Stoke. I'll always support whatever manager we have in charge, but I'll call out when performances and results are unnacceptable and if I believe the man in charge has had a fair shot
good to see hafi still amusing himself.
and the OP should take himself to reddevilsdouble's thread, where most people there are completely unswayed by a hard-fought home win over a poor swansea, and still want to see the back of the dutchman (and you can count me in that camp).
Hopefully goals for Martial and Rooney will give them a much needed confidence boost.
We have played some good stuff the last couple of games, we just need to find the back of the next more often and we'll be fine. So nothing has changed for me.
What we really need is to get Martial in the box and on the end of chances. I said at half time on Saturday that we needed Martial in the box to offer a physical presence. As soon as he did get in the box he scored a cracking header. We look more dangerous with 2 strikers in the box and Young flinging in crosses from the right wing. There has been a lot of talk about 442 being dead in recent years but it could be the right move for us right now.
Said the same thing Elvis, get the ball to Young and get Martial in the box.
In fairness, it happened. Whenever Young had the ball Martial was trying to get on the end of it. So LVG obviously did something right at half time.
I don't think anyone truly wants us to be sacking our manager again. His dismal record over the last couple of months, coupled with generally dull football has been the problem. If there is any chance that we've turned a corner and can put a run together under LvG then great.
The performance against Chelsea and result against Swansea has maybe given LvG the benefit of the doubt for a couple more games.
One patchy win against a poor relegation struggler and everything changes on here.

It changes nothing actually.

I reckon if we continue to dominate and score enough to win games we will win the title. We should really be top of the league but we seen it before 8 points wasn't enough or even more then that in the past.
Hafi, get a grip of yourself.

The mood on here is certainly different fom last week, hard to bash a team or manager after a win, even home to Swansea - 3 points for a win regardless of style and goal difference
(probably including myself).
