Would love Deeney here simply because he started his career at my local club. He isn't good enough for us though

Don't forget Wenger himself went to watch Dean Windass' lad at Accrington.

We could do with a couple of grafters in the squad. Deeney has a set of lungs that would put most of our squad to shame. He also creates quite a bit.
Watching Özil and Giroud pout and throw their hands up at yet another short pass from midfield was painful against Newcastle.

Turns out Aubameyang skipped the first training session of the year yesterday.
This should keep the media busy for the whole month.

Do we get a % of Afobes transfer fee if he moves to Palace? There were rumours last season of some sort of clause

Perspective. He's not the finesse player we are used to. But we have finesse everywhere. This team still needs what it's always needed, steel. He's got plenty of that. Personally though, if we're going for a Watford striker, I see Ighalo as a more likely AW target. Not sure how old he is but he looks like just the sort of raw talent Wenger would relish refining. As I said Deeney is all steel. Doesn't look as though finesse can be added now. Ighalo on the other hand has plenty of steel and the attributes which can breed finesse if taught. Ighalo also suits Ozil far better.

Of course we do. I'm willing to bet we're still making money off Jermaine Pennant. .

Yeah I'd take a player who has hit a purple patch for half a season. Oh wait, I'm not a scouser.

Wenger will likely bottle it and nobody will be signed. City will nick the title by 2 points due to an "unforeseen" injury crisis for arsenal and you will all blame luck.

This is the most likely scenario.

when Wenger says he'll be busy he means he'll be reffing some charity matches

If Wenger says we will be busy in the transfer window it means a lot of the kids will be sold or go out on loan. That is all it means. It bear no relationship to who we buy.
