I said at the time crazy. Everyone got giddy. The commentators don't help declare etc. Should have batted and left them last hour and 3 full days to survive, chasing 550 to avoid follow on. Cook should fall on his sword if England lose this.
what nonsense. It wasnt cooks decalaration that made England bat so poorly today..you shouldnt worry about losing a game if you score over 600.
Ridiculous to blame cook for an average batting performance in 2nd innings... Also, shall we blame cook for the dropped catches too?

No one has said that
Nobody did say that directly Benny - but to even remotely suggest that declaring on 627 runs is too early is ludicrous. What people are countering the argument with is.......the reason why there was any sniff for south africa was due to a poor batting performance on the final day and a bad fielding day on the previous days. Take our chances and we would of won by an innings and some.
I.e cook hasn't got a single question to answer
could question him about his own batting !
Would be a little critical imo. The man averages in the high 40s. He was having a terrible run of form a year or 2 back. I then met him in a bar in cheltenham, and since then hes been excellent....ur welcome
