Is this like War Thunder?
Yes, basically you are in tanks, you need experience to upgrade your tanks and can take a while, although the last beta gave you a big upgrade boost and some free tanks.
Once you get used to the upgrade path and what the different tanks are good for, it turns into a really fun and sometimes strategic game
Well worth downloading available now on PS store, but only available to play this weekend until it releases.
Hope the controls are better than WT. They were very hard without a mouse/keypad.
The PS4 controller was perfect, didnt take me long to have my tank careening around the battlefield, took me a while longer to work out tactics and the tank upgrade path.
but in answer to your question, DS4 works great.
Sounds good. I haven't played a strategy game in ages.
See you there Nadz I look forward to blowing you to pieces (in the nicest possible way)

It's a great game and i have played it a lot over the last 5 years on the PC.
I think the best thing to do is pick a line that you want to go down and just follow it. Don't try and get all the tanks it will take years haha.
My advice is get the M4 on the American medium line and get it with 100mm and gold shells, Hilarious fun just 1 shotting stuff.
I would also get the Hellcat on the American TD line. Really good tank and had some of my best games in that tank. Really bad at first but once it's fully upgraded and you have full camo on the crew it's a beast.
Also I would check out the forums and video's on youtube. They help massively when you are first starting out, not just the basics but the crew training and what to get for different tanks etc.
Played it for a couple of hours. I got some nice long distance kills with the sniper zoom. The upgrading is too complicated for me though. There are loads of tanks to potentially get. Online was fun aswell. His behind a wall and it was funny as I got 2 kills in a row by ambushing them. The 15vs15 mode was intense. Although I think it was mostly 8vs8 for most matches.
Stick with it Nadz, upgrading isn't as complicated as it first appears, I am going down the Rusian route, those KV's are tough, started on the American route and wasted a lot of experience
Just waiting for the rest of the game to download now. Were they giving 2 free tanks as a free download as I saw summat I'm sure.
The last beta I got two free tanks, not sure if they were doing the same in this one, did you get them?
The KV-1S and the IS-3 are the stand out heavies on the russian line. Really good taking hits and also really powerful when fully upgraded.
Don't rule out the French heavies though, at the later levels they get a cartridge loader so you get 6 shots I think. Plus on the French line get the ELC light tank, it's like a matchbox car v's Tonka Trucks

yeah got 2 free tanks. The one I was using was the M22 Locust which was fast as hell! Prefer it to the default one. Didn't upgrade anything yet but I think I've got something like 200 coins and 90,000 xp points though.
Anyone wondering when the game will launch proper, I can confirm you will be able to play the game from the 19th of january
