There weren't all that many empty seats, though I can't find official attendance stats. Our official stats are nonsense as they are based on ticket sales, not bums on seats. I'd still reckon we'd have had the highest attendance in England this weekend though, if your bet hinges on that

So the upper tier of the Ferguson stand wasn't empty?

The official attendances given on the day is for tickets sold, not bums on seats. Loads of empty seats yesterday and I can't say I blame people.

I have a 21 month old son and I was questioning the what the hell I was doing watching that snooze fest than being with my boy. Won't be renewing unless there are changes and I don't mean trophies either. I mean entertainment and joy because I haven't had any this year really.

I don't blame you at all. I live in Northern Ireland and haven't been to OT in a couple of years, so I don't have anywhere near as much vested in this football club as you do. But season ticket holders and regular match going fans are being cheated by what they have to witness every week.

I was very much anti-Giggs up until recently. I don't think he should be shoehorned into the job without having proven himself as a manager to begin with. We're Man United, not an old boys association or a charity!

BUT I do think Giggs will get the job sooner or later and I'm slightly warming to the idea. We would play better football under him, I'm convinced of that. And the results couldn't possibly be worse than the current ones. So I reckon we should just give him the job to the end of the season, and if the football we play and results take an upward trajectory, give him a longer term contract

Don't pity me mate. I pity what you had to go through prior to sheiky jake buying you the world.

I'm not a plastic fan. Been to more United games than near enough everyone on this site so i think I'm safe on that front.

I won't pay good money ( i don't earn fortunes either ) to watch that dross next year though. Take the trophies away for a while is fine but having to watch that style with no trophies is just too much.

SE what you need to do is sing "we're not really here" whilst turning your back to the game of football and linking arms with the fans beside you, unless you're stuck beside an empty seat

So was the upper tier of the Ferguson stand empty in that last home game?

Hahahaha

I don't mind the bittters that much tbh. I think the fact we wanted them to win the title more than we did Liverpool the other year makes them even more bitter.

Imagine that......your most hated rivals don't even put you on same pedestal. Close but not quite.

Stretty trying to justify his glory hunting is brilliant.

I won't support my team because I don't like the way they play but I'm a bigger fan than everyone else on here.

Class a cardboard fan.

About that top tier yesterday!

Anyone?

The number of fans at OT yesterday was bigger than any attendance in the history of the United Stadium. "We're not really here"

Being born in 1985 and just so happening to coinicide with my club's greatest ever period isn't glory hunting you bitter little man.

It's called me jammy as fook.

I've been to European cup finals, seen us win the double double and the treble. Suck on those lemons.

City don't fill their ground in their best period in their entire history. Slightly worrying that their fans don't even want to see Aguero, Silva, KDB etc.

I think some of them prefer the days of Dickov and co because deep down they know that's their true level. Deep down they know that a Sheikh has made them a big club, sorry a MASSIVE club.

...

Was full enough to be honest. After ht it took some fans a long time to come back up.

Terrible atmosphere though, and a dire, dire match.

The bet was on attendance being nearly full house. Cheers for the replies guys. Anyone got an official link?

posted on 10/1/16

I don't know what the attendance was initially but it was a lot less around the 80th minute mark.

Hard to blame any of them. I'm sure you're bound to be enjoying our awfulness right now to an extent, as you have every right to. But the current state of affairs is just wrong on every level. It's not remotely knee jerk to say LVG has to go and should have already been gone

I would be more bored if I was the opposition fan, they don't get to see their teams attack much when they play us. You could probably film a 3 minute video with all the times the opposition attack us with possession of the ball in our final third in most games we play.
