you clearly have never seen Arteta play, if he signs he will be an excellent signing. Great vision,good shot on him and has a very good delivery from set pieces.

Yeah we must be a laughing stock making around 10 signings including Gervinho, Mertesacker, Santos and Arteta, when we have missed out on Henderson, Downing and Parker. Not to mention Adebayor! Muppet.

After reading some comments here I have warmed to having Arteta join us. I was never against Benayoun signing as long as another midfielder came in.

It does look like we will stick with 4-3-3 but lets wait and see. Arteta is versatile, can play on both wings so perhaps we could play on either flank with Theo partnering RVP up front and Jack/Song in the middle. Have to say watching Theo this season he finally looks to be ready to move into the middle.

I've been watching Arteta for years. He's no better than Rosicky or Ramsey. We'll regret paying 10M for him.

And no offence, but you were what, 12 when he first came?

He had some injury problems last season, sure, and wasn't 100%, but he is still a good player.

In fact, it's much like Kaká, a player who's 29, and has struggled with injuries and poor form recently, but everyone still wanted to sign Kaká.

Granted, he was a better player than Arteta 3 years ago, but in the last couple of years? I'm not so sure. And when you add into that the fact we would struggle to pay his wages, and that Arteta has Prem and some, albeit fleeting, CL experience, this does begin to make some sense.

I honestly feel that you guys are severely underrating Arteta. I'm not happy with Benayoun either but Arteta will fit well at Arsenal, i always thought he was the closest thing to Cesc in the EPL.
