I wonder if Wenger was primed beforehand by his press team. I also pondered how Bertie Mee would have dealt with being asked about the death of Jimi Hendrix. Of course Bowie was in the same age range as Wenger.
I doubt it. Wenger always knows the right thing to say
Weird. Tbf, great response from Wenger, but the article is all a bit weird.
Think the journo saw the comparisons between the two and wanted to highlight how great Wenger is! Which is refreshing after the years of criticism he's received.

Wenger is a great manager, Arsenal fans are feckin weird!
Didn't he know The Who did "My Generation" ?
AW's comments on Bowie were some of the better tributes I read. I will miss him when he is gone, he might divide opinion but he is a classy intelligent guy.
Can't imagine Wenger and Jose having a bit of bum fiddling like Jagger and Ziggy did.

I really doubt it. The presser was at something like 9am and the news of Bowie's death didn't come out until after 8am. Not much time to be primed ....
When confronted with something like this, he generally gives an honest and balanced response.
Unfortunately he can have a blindspot when it comes to football matters.
Wonder who'd be the top and who'd be the bottom.
Goes a little off the rails in the middle, but otherwise a great article.
Strange article but nice to read at the same time.
