Its a witch hunt they cry Jim, but it isnt....its just a few of us can see he not a good enough keeper. Imo, the whole defence is jittery because they know their keeper is likely to either, make a mistake, position himself poorly, fail to deal with a cross or do something stupid.
And dont talk to me about his distribution....I never seen worse in the gk red of liverpool.
The truth is that we aren't Arsenal. JK isn't AW. He will make the right noises but he won't wait for SM to come good long term like that have done with successive GK before 'lucking' into Cech playing for them
There is surely going to be another GK in the summer with the possibility of Ward getting some game time before the end of the season
However, there is a business element to this as well. Bogdan is probably on about £50K a week but is a complete liability. Hence who would take him and pay him at that level. I can't blame him if he sticks around taking the money! Another BR / IA masterstroke of negotiation!
Hence we'd have 2 reserve GK on good money, Ward probably due a pay rise if he makes first team and then we need to hopefully get a top class number 1. That's a lot of money
JK might not have the budget to do that in the summer. There might be other areas he wants to deal with first as a bigger priority. I guess we will see!
Giroud clearly touched the ball.
And I don't think that was Mignolet's fault anyway, it was the truly abysmal defending from the set piece. There's only so much a GK can do in that situation.
Yeah, giroud defo touched the ball seen it in slo mo.
Tu Meke, if you don't think Mig was at fault, then, fine. We'll crack on, onwards and upwards, never fearing ever again that each and every time to opposition attack they'll have no chance of scoring.
The defending,Mig included, was desperate at times last night. The whole crowd held its collective breath every time Arsenal came forward.

the squad wages that were released the other wek show him to be on 15K a week.
No doubt Mig can be upgraded on, and should be. As should most of the defence. Its not just one or the other. they're all culpable for our poor performances at the back
A GK has to command the box. SM just doesn't! He's not developed in the time he's been at Anfield and found the next step to a big club difficult. Shame but that's the way it goes
We need a personality in goal again!
Respect...absolutely, the gk has to dominate and the fact migs doesn't really affects the whole defence. They are never comfortable with him. I really believe he is the main reason we struggle.
Hes improved, but his positioning is woeful, his agility/reactions are slow and sluggish, he cant kick or catch a ball, hes not bad at spreading himself making himself big on 1v1s and he can occasionally make saves from long shots, oh and he has no command of his 6 yard box let alone his whole box...
Not good enough, 9million aswell and hes not exactly inexperienced or young either, nice guy but probably our worst no1 goalkeeper we've had in my time.
Mignolet and Skrtel could win us the league and nobody on here would praise them. Complete and utter scapegoats.
Whereas Sakho could bend over and take a crap on the pitch and you'd all praise him.
Bizarre behaviour.
Skrtel had 1 good season atleast, Sakho has ability on the ball and can have games where he wins everything, yes hes capable of mistakes buts hes hardly played with the same partner and rarely gets a run of games going before getting injured, hes still not in his prime yet like Skrtel should be, whos getting worse!

Skrtel has been our best centre back for 5 years at least! It's ridiculous how little credit he gets for us.
Skrtel is one of the MAIN reasons we are poor in defence. Anyone who cannot see this is either a member of his family or has a man crush on him.
Mignolet and Skrtel are top 6 quality, we want top four quality. That's the difference 👍

-----------------------
Yeah Skrtel has been the mainstay in a consistently poor defence for the past 3-4 years. He must be great haha. Same goes for Mignolet.
The fact is Mignolet and Skrtel are mentally weak players and that breads doubt into the other players around them. Without those two in the team, and with a bit of time for other new players to bed in and find their feet, then we will be a much more solid unit at the back.
Klopps recent past history with keepers isn't brilliant,i thought weidenfeller at Dortmund was poor but he persisted with him.
Cech probably looked the worse keeper last night. Says a lot. .

What did the crowd think about not having a defender at the near post?
Where I was on the Kop, the vitriol directed against him was fierce, as it was, in my view justifiable.
right, so he's In goal, and can hear all of this coming from behind him, and you don't think that will have some effect on his performance? you don't think he might start over thinking things, and second guessing his decisions in order to avoid the abuse getting worse? maybe being over-ambitious In coming for the ball, thinking that extra bit of effort may cut him some slack with the fans?
for fack's sake. you're at the bloody ground, if you can't fully support the player while your there, why bother going?
yes, some of the criticism and abuse may be fully justified, but after the game, in the pub or on the way home, NOT in the stadium during the game.

I did forget to add I thought Mignolet, while not at fault for Ramsey's goal, could have done a lot better.
I don't rate Mignolet highly, but he's obviously a decent keeper, made to look worse by the defending in front of him.
I then watched Cech and Mignolet. The former earns his club - at least - 15 points per season; the latter cost us the same,
-----
Exactly. Some of our fans are so loyal they still defend him even though he is just about the biggest liability on the team.

Or maybe some of our fans have no desire to direct their vitriol towards him. As said above, it must do wonders for your confidence to have your own fans directing such stuff towards you.
Good effort Jimmy, what a wonderful fan you are, you should be proud of yourself. Toss pot.

Both my comment and the one I was replying to had nothing to do with vitriol directed at Mig during the game. I don't approve of that. Having said that I think its fair to say that he is a major weakness IMO, of which we have many to be fair but a weakness all the same.
Let's be honest now. If he was as bad as you guys make out then surely Klopp is blind or doesn't know what he's doing right?
