The top 5 I have seen:
1) Gough (unlucky with injuries)
2) Anderson
3) Broad
4) Caddick
5) Hoggard
In terms of best 5 English, you have the likes of Willis, Truman and Botham to consider.
I don't think Bob would be in my top 5 list. Even of the ones I saw. I liked Deadly Derek Underwood.
Caddick and Gough above Broad?? I mean really. You're usually the one of the 3 Pakistan Stooges that talks a bit of sense.
Fred has to be up there just due to his ability to completely change a game with a spell. Stats aren't pretty for Fred though.
Broads above Caddick

That I have seen
1. Anderson
2. Fred
3. Broad
4. Swann
5. Gough
I thought he was referring to pace bowlers hence no Swann in my list.
I do though think Gough was number 1. He was playing in a very poor England team and was always the main threat with new and old ball. Always had a bowling average below 30 which is something both Jimmy and Broad have only recently achieved.
Goughie was very good, now he reads scripts on how to be a football pundit with that idiot Durham.
serial as Flintoff as the second best english bowler ever? ..
I dont get this Broad and Anderson under 30 average nonsense that keeps being repeated. In the last 10 years the standard of test pitches have been extremely and laughably flat.. you just need to see how many test runs that have been scored.. secondly the back to back test matches are ruining bowlers..
Broad is world class bowler now.infact hes currently the best seem bowler in the world.. Steyn is up there to.. Broads record over the last 3 years is amazing..
Anderson
Broad
Gough
Willis
Botham..
I'm talking about bowlers I have seen play.
I'm not a miserable moaning OLD git like you that's seen players make a name for themselves on uncovered pitches.
Am only 37 you numbskull..Flintoff always bowled a length too short. He would have taken more wickets if he had been slightly fuller..
Hoggarrd was even better than him..
Only 37???
So if you're 37 that means you were 6 years old when Bob Willis played his last test yet you've included him in your list?? Oh I forget, you don't need to have watched people play to make a judgement on them ๐๐๐
I have looked at Willis test record and its good..I have seen Flintoff bowl. and like his ego its over hyped..
