This
They both young and can challenge each other.
Believe Jenkinson's progress at West Ham is one of the reasons why AW is not averse to letting Debuchy leave. .

I don't really understand. He was doing well last season, to the point that they even wanted to sign him in the summer.
What happened in the past 6 months?

he hasn't been great for us this season. He is okay going forward but not so much defensively.
Hence Tomkins playing RB. Team keeps so many more clean sheets with him there

Think it is more to do with Debuchys form and attitude tbf.
Jenkinson is the half player as he was in the last season....

He's still a good option to have. West Ham were going nowhere until he came on against Bournemouth. The width he offers in attack is quite considerable.
Bring him back Arsene.
Arsene have to as Debuchy is gone....almost
I would imagine the West Ham manager now wants to create a team of players that are his, rather than loaned players that will fit in teh team, do well, then leave. So I would say he knows jenks is leaving at some point and thinks he should try players that are not leaving.
shame really as he was doing well there. I would have him back. I like him. rather he played that Debuchy
Will be great to have him back and hopefully he'll rediscover his form. We will have good competition and aren't they both homegrown?
Debuchy's attitude has been rotten to the core. Rather than fight for his place all he has done is whine constantly. Says a lot that even when Bellers was totally out of form Debuchy still didn't get a single game.

Jenkinson should certainly be a better RB than Tomkins who is a CB after all. Thing is Bilic has proven himself to be a least a decent manager and he now regularly picks Tomks over Jenkinson. He isn't just doing it for the sake of it.
Something has gone wrong with Jenkinson this season, not sure what, but I think Arsenal might live to regret not taking the £10m or so for him West Ham offered over the summer. At the moment his stock has fallen considerably.
Tomkins certainly is better for us
He signed a five year deal with Arsenal last summer, he has a future here. Although it looks like he'll be in the same position as Gibbs, backup defender and come on to rest the winger in front and come on for the last 10 minutes of a game when we sit back and panic.

Regardless of his form in the present moment, he has shown at West Ham and even at Arsenal that he is a decent, solid Premier League standard fullback. He is still only 23 and can still improve. £10m would have been letting him go far too easily, especially at his age.

They stopped playing defensive hoofball and he was exposed as the fraud that he is. Funny how this time last year half of the board thought he and Song were God's gift. Now look at them.
Samir
I genuinely hope he does get back whatever it is he has lost, he was great last season.
He just looked off the pace at the start of this season, which was understandable being as he hadn't had the early European start the rest of our squad had, but he has never caught up and looks only 90% fit every time he plays.
Jenks is young enough to challenge for a spot in our team. Performances depend on a lot of things including the tactics played, players around you, etc. I'm sure he can do a job for us but don't see him ousting Hector from first choice.
With Debuchy wanting to leave he can slot in as 2nd RB
He's a decent RB. Got a great attitude. Always wanted Him to succeed at Arsenal. Just not sure yet he has the ability to be our first choice RB in near future. If he's ok with playing back up for us, then he'll be welcome back, and a good option to have. Debuchy is decent player, but brink he's given up with us. Jenkinson would at least give 100%
