Yes, in retrospect taking off Giroud and Campbell were bad decisions. Walcott's touches were just terrible--you can't have poor touches when down a man and playing a team intent on sitting back.
No it didnt. Having a statue as one of 10 len would have been far worse
This a defender that can't run, turns his back when anybody attempts a shot around him, don't get headed goals, dropped by his country and still starts and captains a club with our resources.
Sad really!
Just let it sink in for a second, Dubbed; amid the poor performances, head scratching squad choices, we've been doubled and had about 3 shots on target by as bad a Chelsea side as they've had out against us in 15 years. It's hysterical.
Walcott is so crap. Giroud should've stayed on, he was fit enough to start afterall. Would've got something with him
Agree, it was a factor. Strange decision by Wenger😈
I knew in the moment he took off Giroud we had no focal point upfront and no one that put any pressure and their awful defence.
We missed him badly. When I saw Flamini had the chances in the area Giroud normally is we wouldnt have lost the game.
Wenger's not clueless or past it, he was let down today by 2 things:
1st a rush of blood by arguably our calmest defender
2nd by our pivot, flamini is past it, I know it, you know it, wenger knows it, christ even Flam knows it himself. The only one who doesn't seem to is Ramsey, time after time in those first 15 mins chelsea got past flamini and where was the great rambo? In ozil or even oli's position, this lack in basic levels of 'giving a crap' is what put us in the position to lose per in the first place.
I bet you any money when we went down to 10 Ramsey was was extatic as he now had an excuse to go kamikaze attack, such a selfish weasal

In all fairness, most of the 180 minutes against them this season have been with a handicap.

True. Still, prior to the sending offs we'd been pathetic on both occasions.
Think we can put the myth to bed that Theo is a CF and a replacement for Giroud. He can play there occasionally but needs to have a kind of form. He needs to improve dramatically and that being on the wing.
I actually think putting Theo up front helped us - asw poor as he was. We'd have likely been squeezed with Giroud up top and our lack of midfield control and composure would have been exposed further. Theo's threat over the top forced Chelsea's back line into sitting back based on that threat. I didn't mind the decision.

Yeah, I agree with that. Far too feeble.

Not sure which game do you watch Herbie. Nothing of what you there happened on the pitch. We needed Giroud presence in the box in the last few minutes. Watching Flamini in that position is just wrong.
Was a strange sub but don't think it killed us more than being down to 10
I cant believe what you have written there, Herbie
