Peter Hill-Wood LOL

"'He is a serial cheat and he gets away with it,' Hill-Wood said to the Daily Star. 'I think he deliberately ran in front of Mertesacker, who hardly touched him.

'Yet Costa rolls around as if his legs have been cut off. Once the red card's been shown, he's suddenly perfectly all right again."

Ignoring your hyerbole - can you actually argue with any of that?

He does roll about yes, I already said that but if it is hyperbole you are interested in then Mr Hill-Wood seems to excel. A tad exaggerated in his comments.

His implication is that Costa cheated. Can you actually agree with that?

Can't believe so much has been made of this incident, i'd have sent him off

Depends if you consider misleading the referee cheating or not, if you do then yes he cheated by exaggerating the effect of the tackle. Not sure why though, there was enough there for a red card anyway - just can't help himself I guess. But he does do it all the time, and he does get away with it - he's not alone in that.

I'd say 90% of players would have done the same, it's crept into our game now people shouldn't be surprised/outraged

Not sure it's quite that bad Bobby, but certainly a lot would.

I really hope Spurs win the league on the last day pipping Arsenal to the title.

Moaning cants.

I think people are making more of it because it's costa, who has a rather chequered past

I've not seen one comment that suggests it wasn't a red card.

Whine, moan, bleat and point-fingers AKA The Arsenal Way.

It has more to do with the individual involved namely Diego Costa.

Pretty much he has cheated in both fixtures and in the 90 minutes he has got away with it. He was retrospectively banned for the first match but the fact that the officials cant do anything about his cheating in the 2nd game is the reason why its a talking point.

Mertesacker deserved his red card but fact is Costa cheated again, and he will do its again and continue making officials look stupid.

For me he is getting into Ashley Young Territory, eventually refs wont give him anything until he leaves the country.

To be fair, a lot of Arsenal fans do accept it was a red card but I couldn't help but smile at Mr Hill-Wood's comments. Classic tinted spectacle view we all have from time to time.

I thought the best quote came from one Arsenal fan who tweeted the BBC saying "worst season for Chelsea in 20 years and they still take 6 points off us".

I think therein lies the real reason for the moans, frustration.

There does seem to be something about playing Chelsea of late. It's a bit weird to be honest.

But we just want him back, that's all - it hasn't been the same since Pete left.

Arsenal meltdown still in full flow!!

It is a hot topic Mr C and I agree with Guv there is a lot of frustration involved. WBA and Newcastle seem to do ok at home against you in the last few years. In fact Newcastle seem a bit of a nuisance to you at home and yet Arsenal usually beat them in the North East.

It is weird Arsenal cannot seem to do anything v Chelsea, a bit like the 90's and early 00's in reverse.

For what it is worth, I think it was a red and even if you think not, it was hardly a travesty of justice.

Hill Wood is entitled to his view, but perhaps he could have said something bland like ' time to move on. It's gone. Nothing we can do now'.

Exactly, this will all be forgotten and the Chelsea fans will all disappear again when they lose to Watford next week.

Has anyone ever read the offical Chelsea Twitter page?

It's a fantastic read. Eg "Costa's right fist was brutally attacked by the opposition player's face..."

You've forgotten the MK Dons!

If you lot are frustrated, just think how we feel. We have been Eartha Kitt all season.

We need them to have some sort of form at some stage Henrys. They have Spurs, Man City, Leicester and Man Utd at home before the end of the season.
