If you haven't had a console in a while get a PS3. Massive back catalogue of great games that are now dirt cheap, graphics are still amazing, online features are completely free and you can use Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube etc.
A used one will be especially cheap.

Well, if you want to play the likes of Battlefront online (and it's essentially an online-only game) then you'll need to give up another £40 to Sony each year.
Xbox have done that for years and Sony saw it was missing out by not charging its customers double, so tacked on some free* games to justify the price and begun laughing when people bought into it.
*The free games are not actually free, as you're paying £40 per year to get them, you don't get to choose what games you get and if you stop paying you lose the games. So £40 for game rental where you don't get to pick the games.
OK so of I want to play dome games online I understand, but for general use like browsing, Netflix etc I don't need to pay right?
Yeah, although I believe Xbox does make you pay, or at least they used to.

Even though I'm not hugely into games, I like the look of the star wars game and some of the first person shooters, so we shall see.
