Have to agree that the review system is a farce. Forget the DR'S system. Why can't the 3rd umpire just simple correct the umpire every time he makes a genuine error.
Cricket is not fast paced and a 3rd umpire should overuse mistakes. Take it away from the players.
For me i would leave it relatively simple.
1) I'd ensure that all broadcasters/nations use the same equipment. Hotspot, Snicko etc. Use of this should be compulsory
2) I'd make sure that EVERY ball is reviews by hird umpire for no balls. I think his would make decision making easier for umpires as they have less factors affecting their reaction time
3) probably most importantly I would keep the number of reviews the same as I don't want to see India reviewing every other ball. I do think teams should lose reviews but I would change the parameters on "umpires call". We've seen a number of decisions recently where the ball would crash into be stumps only to be denied by umpires call. I'd halve the current parameter in place for umpires call.
I agree the one review in odis is nonsense..A team is only allowed to make one mistake and they lose their chance.. an umpire can make as many mistakes as they want..
Imagine losing your one review on an umpires call!
I think there should be at least two reviews in an ODI and 3 for each new ball in a test match.
India wouldn't be reviewing every other ball if the penalty was 5 extras to the other team for a review turned down.
