It's such a shame that when it comes down to it you just aren't that good.
European football will ruin you.
What a pathetic contribution from of all people a Leeds fan..
Ah, just ignore him YH.
It's obviously delightful that this article can even be written. As a pigeonholed Leicester City fan, I'm finding that a lot of people I know who aren't Leicester fans are using that as their opening gambit in conversation these days. Frankly, it's great to oblige. And yet I find that I still feel somewhat in the eye of the storm. All of this is happening, with media starting to notice us and other fans wanting us to win it - not because we're Leicester of course, but because we'd be one in the eye for the rich/big boys and because our story represents hope for other clubs that they can aspire to more than just mid table Premier League. And yet all I see is my team playing well and continuing to win, normal players doing extraordinary things and a club that retains its connection with the fans - a club that still essentially represents a local area rather than anything more than that like several big clubs of the Premier League do.
With regard to your point on the bench, I can understand your concern. We had:
One ancient goalkeeper, who'd rather sit in the dressing room with a cosy blanket over his knees rather than come out for a run;
One aging but reliable centre half;
One young full back who would undoubtedly try his best and has great potential but isn't yet at the level required;
One dependable and committed central midfielder, someone who could step in and do a job but isn't on the level that Drinkwater and Kante have shown this season;
One loanee winger who seems to be going through a tough time (those who haven't heard his rumoured story, you may feel more for him if you did) but is struggling to make an impact;
One young winger who looks a good prospect but probably isn't quite cooked yet;
One tall striker who has struggled at times this season but will fight to the end.
We do have Amartey to come in, but that doesn't give us a great many options. Essentially, the first team will have to keep performing.
As regards Inler, my thought was that we were still eyeing up the possibility of a loan for him and so he wouldn't want an injury. It's understandable considering that he needs game time in order to lead out Switzerland in this summer's Euros, although of course his experience could be very useful to us. That said, despite better recent performances, is he really going to replace Drinkwater or Kante? It'll be interesting to see whether he gets a game against Man City or Arsenal, where I wouldn't be surprised to see us flood the midfield in the first half and save Okazaki for a burst later in each match.
*We do have Schlupp to come back as well, who can be erratic but a speedy handful. So he could yet play a part for us and would at the very least provide a useful option off the bench.
Pearson's legacy just keeps going!

TB i think is getting a bit dimmer with time new broom etc. But saying that where i am in the middle east everyone knows us if not just for Marhez.
Will we win the league no but i still dream. As for the bench look at it another way these players have got us where we are, and these players alone if we don't make it its not because of someone coming in fault etc. We will salute them. Where ever they and us finish it is our and their season we are one with them and it 45 years its never been this good.

Just a quick one good luck tomorrow against Man City and good luck for the rest of the season ..... Hope that you pull it off and win the league ...... From a Baggie
I never thought I'd be as proud of our team as the O'Neill days when we'd go up to Anfield and Ian Marshall would somehow score the winner or we'd withstand a ceaseless 20 minute onslaught at our goal at Old Trafford and sneak a 1-0 win.
This season has just taken it to a new level hasn't it. I doubt we'll win the PL, but if we get a result in the next two games you just never know.
I can't put it any more eloquently than JG has, but the thought of us entertaining the elite teams of Europe next season is as possible now as it was unimaginable at the start of the season.

Little Leeds United
Interesting how not many people think we can win the PL. Maybe we're all just protecting ourselves from the hurt if we don't actually win it.
For the record, I don't think we'll win it either - but every week I don't think we'll win it a bit less....!
But here's an interesting stat from the BBC. Of the last 99 points available to us, we've taken 72 points. That's an average of 2.18 points per game which, over the course of a season, would give us 83 points....
I don't think it would hurt if we didn't win it - unless it snatched from us at the very very end.
If we finish within 4 points we may look back on the 2 penalty misses and wonder what if.
3rd at this stage would be an absolute dream but given where we are currently then dropping out the top 4 altogether would probably hurt
To be honest TOTF, I don't think United are going to overhaul a ten point deficit with 14 games to play. They'd have to pick up dramatically and we'd have to have an almight collapse between now and the end of the season.
I think top 4 is more or less a given now.
I think you're right. I've done the maths several times giving Utd a generous 2ppg and convinced my self that we should get the required amount to stay above them.
But there is always that nagging doubt that you can't brush off

If we get just a solitary point from either game no one will have more points than us when we go in to the Norwich game

JG You mentioned there your trip home and fans of the foxes all over the world.
Tuesdays win left me with a smile on my face all the way back to Hampshire. There are quite a few exiles down here.
Anyway to impress my new female neighbour in the seat next to me, I said I've driven up from Hampshire, the reply ''oh we have our flight back to Burmuda early morning'True the whole family had come across for the match!!!!!' .

An even worse one, but that's hardly the point, is it?
If Johngee is happy, things must be good.
Very good.
They are!
It is a great season. What would take the gloss off for me would be a bad run up to the end showing relegation form, which would not set us up well for next season - no sign of that at present though.
I think we're looking good to challenge for a place in Europe at present. Maybe even the title if we get 2, 4 or 6 points from the next two games.
I don't think we'll win it, because if we are in with a shout in April I think the pressure will tell on the team. Nice to be able to dream though!
