i disagree it was a poor substitution.

benteke hasnt worked and him and firmino do not link up well, this team is set up now for a milner/lallana off for sturridge and we can have a mobile front line against a tiring team.

I think it's a big part of it. Some of his play is ok, with some good footwork and touches. It's in front of goal at the moment that's the issue. That's probably lack of confidence....

He wouldn't be on the bench if he wasn't 100% match ready. I thought that would be obvious with everything Klopp has said on the subject.

I agree to some extent. Strikers in particular rely on confidence - look at Vardy at the moment, a striker with less form never tries that against us.

But look back through the season, even when Benteke scores a goal, even a few in a row, he doesn't look any better to me.

Hopeful long range shots perhaps, but guilt edge chances, probably not.

i dont have a chip on my shoulder with him, i was excited when we signed him, and then we failed to play to his actual strengths and instead lobbed high balls at him, his effort has also dissapointed and he has done little to warrant support.

when he does things well i praise him, but he certainly doesnt deserve to be starting games
