Upstarts, ARE, upstarts? I watched them play today, they battered City off the park. Well worthy winners of the PL if they get there.

Tell you what Pearson must be soo annoyed with his son! It was him who cost him his job. His team could of done really well and it would of set NP up as a quality English coach...

Fair play to Leicester but they are an ok side at best the league is a shambles

Utd , Chelsea, ourselves have been woeful

Tottenham , City and Arsenal have been average at best may be Spurs have been better than usually but if you look at when we finished second a few years ago the team who came 4th/5th that year would be clear at the top this season

We smashed City at their place and look how pathetic we are so it is difficult for me to give Leicester too much credit

We could bear city in the final by 3/4 goals and then not win for 10 matches and I wouldn't bat an eye

The league is full of work horses and has a handful of real ball players

Will always love Pearson for what he did for my club but no way would he have us top like Ranieri has at the minute. His man management is second to none but tactically he is miles behind Claudio.

No VJ, Leicester aren't just an OK side. They play their hearts out for each other. The play like a team should. We can only dream about matching them.

Dream on.

Distract from your pathetic pub side

Why not? The media hysteria around LFC is matched by the mediocre on the field performances by a side
who your fans were labeling are "title winning" <oh>

The Verbal Jouster

Spurs have been far from average, in fact other than a couple of freak home defeats against both Newcastle and Leicester, when they bossed both games, they would be out of sight at the top of the table. They have scored pretty well the most goals, conceded the least, and are playing the best football in the division.

In that case what you call your side then?

Below average

Pipe down, because the table don't lie

Few years back....Keep harping on about that side, but that side did well because of one player: Suarez

Where did Benteke, Balotelli and co get you? nowhere!

Sounds like Spurs fans are getting upset. Would you like a bit of praise too sweeties?

posted on 6/2/16

Jimmy you've just reinforced my whole argument the play for each other / as a team / they give 100% but that should be a given for professional football but unfortunately it isn't

Morespurs - I have given Spurs credit as the have played quite well but your not a great side

I would love to see Leicester win the league but if they for me could come 15th next year with the same side and that's my opinion

I would hardly call us upset, after climbing another position in the table, after yet another win.

Now Liverpool, that`s another story.

For me,it would be fantastic if the season ends in a two-horse race. Between the two most prolific, consistent, entertaining sides.

Leicester and Spurs.

Let the cream float to the top.

In reply to the OP I think Pearson deserves enormous credir for getting most of the team together and giving them spririt. But Ranieri deserves more for picking up the baton and improving them even more. And he has done it whilst being amusing, modest and a gent.

posted on 6/2/16

Yup agreed, what a gent he is and very charismatic.

We really do have some very good managers in place now and that bodes well for the future of the premier league.

Its a bad league quality wise, but you still have to win the thing.

I've been writing Leicester off all season. I still think they will melt once they are taken seriously by the press, media, bookies and the pressure builds, but at present they are top on merit.

We didn't crack under the pressure in recent seasons.

Not when we won Div 1

Not when we won the Championship

Not this time last season when we were bottom of the table.

Now I know they are different and you'd argue less pressure but it shows the Club can handle whatever is thrown at them.

posted on 6/2/16

The way the Spurs fans are going on you'd think they were title challengers year on year. This so called pressure we're supposed to come under could also be attributed to Spurs as they have never come close to winning The Premier League last time I looked.

The national media had a collective 'meh' about Leicester winning the Championship. You were one of the biggest, well funded clubs in the division.

Even your relegation escape, as impressive as it was, was a different pressure.

This is a whole new ball game. Probably the most high profile league in the world, and you are now the favourite. You are THE story bar none.

We aren't 5pts clear and the new bookies favourites though

If we were, I'd be saying the same thing about us.

As it stands we are still only 4th favourites. We have pressure on us, but that was from United and West Ham largely looking backwards.

I don't even assume it will be us that takes advantage of the pressure does get to you

Pressure of winning games to stay in a division is way more intense than anything they will face in the run in.

We were expected to win League One and we won it, but no pressure there no? No pressure for us to get out of it first attempt? How many years did Forest and Leeds spend down there?

Nobody expected us to win the Championship, except for me, until Christmas and then we remained on top for the rest of the season. We didnt buckle under the pressure of expectation and won the league in style. There was more pressure on them to be promoted than winning the league this season.

Contrary to what anyone thinks, we won the league on a shoestring. Sven spent all the money and Pearson cleared all but Nuge, Schmeichel and Konchesky out and replaced them with what we have now.

So two league titles and an escape from certain relegation, indicates to me that they have the minerals to carry on and maintain the consistent levels required to actually win it.

posted on 7/2/16

No way is winning games in a relegation battle more pressure than at the top. When you were winning games last season not many outside of Leicester took any massive interest (no offence meant, it just isn't a huge story).

Perhaps looking at it purely on the football it's true the pressure is greater scrapping, but that is not the only place the pressure comes from. The media interest in this will be through the roof in the next few months.

Rather than compare your situation to winning games down the bottom, I'd say it's more akin to the flipside of a big team losing lots of games and being sucked in to a relegation scrap. The longer it goes on, the more the pressure builds. We saw it with Mourinho to a certain extent.

If we can't win it, I hope you do. It will be fantastic. Shearer mentioned about Blackburn last night nearly melting though, and they had proper leaders in that side. Newcastle have lost a 9pt lead at this stage in their pomp. Pressure

posted on 7/2/16

I guess it depends if you think the Media is real pressure, for Clubs in London this seems to especially be the case when they haven't won anything for so long.

I'd say for us pressure comes from the fans, what can be more a focal point than fans shouting abuse at the manager and team like we had last season.

Get to the last couple of weeks and we're still in with a real chance and I agree the pressure will become intense.

For now with our excellent Manager and Club everyone is just enjoying the ride.
