The fact it got delayed (not too sure if there was a legitimate reason for this) I felt it could of sent the message out that rape is not a serious crime.

No idea mate, the law is several shades of grey but its the grooming part that seems to be the difference. I know a fella that groomed 2 13 year old girls. Never met them in person. Got two years for that alone. . When Bill searched his house they found kiddie pictures. All in he got 5 years. Personally I would have roped him up to the nearest tree.
He only pleaded guilty to kissing a 15 year old girl (And grooming her). If it can be proved he did nothing further I don't have a problem with him still playing. I think it is very inappropriate and he is an idiot for doing it but should it ruin his life/career for kissing a 15 year old girl who we don't even know if he knew her age?

They should do this with kiddie shufflers..

Let's wait until we know the facts rather than condemn him on the basis of what the red tops print. If a court finds him guilty he'll suffer plenty while banged up.

incorrect....my boy got attacked by a dog last year(granted....I was near by enough to get it off before it could really go at him...so didn't pierce the skin)...court ordered a muzzle and perm on a leash in public.
for the dog...not my boy wise asses....^^^^^

Thing that bothered me with this is the delay in the trial. I'm not saying Adam Johnson is the most famous footballer out there but lots were aware of the trial.
The fact it got delayed (not too sure if there was a legitimate reason for this) I felt it could of sent the message out that rape is not a serious crime. If he was suspected for murder would he have been playing the past set of months?
For me there should have been an immediate trial so his name was cleared or prosecuted before being allowed to be in the spotlight again.
