UEFA rules only apply to some!

That game will be over before the CL kicks off.

We would have been allowed to do that too (I'm sure we did a couple of years ago)

Exactly, a 5.00pm KO was and option to cover the eventuality of penalties but was deemed impractical. But, why didnt they play the games last week ?

If that's the case Mick, although it would have been a bit more inconvenient you would have thought they could have considered doing that with the cup games, especially given the interest and potential TV money.

Wonder if SFA even gave the clubs a choice.

Does anyone remember this happening in Scotland a few years ago, or am I making that up?

What game would it have been?

Oh and if it is the case, my sincere apologies to UEFA, though really they would have no way of controlling things if there was a delay in the Barca game, so would that game have to be abandoned if it ran over to when a champions league game started?

I know that is being pedantic but it highlights the stupidity of their rules. If gonna apply it then put it across the whole day to stop there being any doubt.

Tne SFA are fvckin clueless. They disnt even know it clashed with CL until too late. Ffs they aranged EK v Celtic at Hamilton without asking hamilton if their ground was available. Which it wasnt. Theyre a bunch of fvckin reprobates. Tim ones <laugj>

Not abandoned, I think that the TV broadcast would just have to end mid-game. The actual game would continue.

it happened in 2011

Rangers were away yo St Johnstone in an april game that kicked off at 5:15

pretty same for celtic the following week against same team

It really is a glaring lack of foresight on the part of the SFA. Lets look at the facts:-

- Scottish Cup dates (and replay dates) are arranged well in advance

- UEFA Champions League dates are arranged well in advance

- The rule regarding potential clashes with Champions League games (whether you agree with it or not) is well known and documented

All the SFA had to do was anticipate problems by reviewing Scottish Cup fixture dates and Champions League fixture dates and putting a contingency plan in place. The only thing which might be excusable is if original matches were postponed because of weather, etc.

This is just down to very, very poor administrative procedures within the SFA and is, frankly, inexcusable.

Cheers Den, I knew I remembered it.

According to this the fans protested against the early kick off.

Maye it's not surprising that SFA avoided it this time.
