I know that not all fat people are unfit but the circular woman I just passed definitely was NOT.

Very rarely see them. Most of the policemen/women I see look like they're of average build, or are well built, but not fat.

So she would've be able to catch you, but she'd be able to restrain you atleast.

Cops in the USA look obese. Honestly. I'd be half tempted to commit a crime just to watch them chase me. I guess that's why the country has so many controversial officer shootings, it's because they can't be bothered to run.

How much running do you think is involved in police work? I mean even if you was quick and had immense stamina, theres a lot more to it and the criminal could still get away by running anyway, and they probably have to run less then 5 % of the time.

Never mind fat policemen/women, the amount of overweight people employed in hospitals is ridiculous. A family member has been ill recently so I've been to the local hospital quite a number of times in the past few months, and I've hardly ever seen an average build NHS employee. It seemed most of them were the size of a small wardrobe. And they say obese people cost the NHS millions/billions every year. They might want to practice what they preach...

I'm a policeman and I had to pass several fitness tests in the uk, I once arrested a football fan named mons for molesting pigeons outside Bethnal Green.

I have to be honest I've not met an overweight police officer in the UK. Like Ronny says the police force require a fitness test so really they shouldn't be getting through the netting. America on the other hand? Honestly no clue on how their recruitment works.

I used to work at a place when one patrolled and he was a monster, if he caught even a strong bloke, they'd be stuffed, although I cant see how this guy woulda caught anyone light footed or agile. He must have have been around 17 stone+ this bloke.
