We have a strong spine of a team that needs to play but all other positions are very interchangeable by players
Lloris
Toby
Dier Dembele
Alli
Kane
The new stadium is key for us to challenge regularly in the future, all of a sudden we will be able to compete on wages for the better players and keep our existing ones.

Ace, you put up a good post, but frankly I don't think supporters were expecting the strongest team all season, but now the nitty gritty of the season is coming around, it is absolutely essential that the strongest team is played in every available game. The time for rotation was in the early rounds of the Europa and the League Cup.
Chelsea are putting out their strongest team in the FA Cup, even though they are still chasing the biggest trophy of all the CL, a far bigger prize than the prem.
Is it really that unreasonable for Spurs to really give it a go in the Europa as well as the Prem, and field as many of their best players as possible in as many games as possible in the final two months of the season, I don't think it is.
Also I didn't see any Spurs fans moaning about yesterday's defeat. A bit of disappointment maybe, but we all know their will be the odd setback.

We've been in the top division for however many years now, consistently for the last 35-40 of them. So whilst we've been 'in' the league, how often have we actually competed to win the damn thing in that time? The true barometer of how good a club is, yet two people on here want to jeopardise that for the Europa league?

Look fellas, as you know I am one of the few on here that has seen Spurs win the league, and nothing would give me more pleasure than Spurs to win the league again, FFS I more than most have had to wait the longest, but at the moment I still don't give Spurs more than a 30 per cent chance of achieving the prem title, and like Sizzle I would take a trophy over top four any day. Spurs could finish say second and trophyless and an excellent season would mean SFA at the end of the day. The opposition supporters would have a field day if Spurs again win SFA.
Spurs supporters should not be thinking that the league title charge is as good as done and dusted, another home defeat like sunday in the prem will damage the title charge beyond repair. Spurs definitely need to have the Europa as a serious back up, no question, they may not win that either, but they have a better chance of winning that by being in it, than out of it.

this sentence shows that you don't really understand what is happening sandy.
its not a case of choosing between trophy and top 4.
I am assuming (maybe prematurely) that we will finish in the top 4 teams this season.... we really should given our position.
its a case of choosing between The Title, or the Europa League.
we will not win both. we just wont - who ever wins both? has it ever even been done? certainly not in recent times by anyone on these shores....
we might win neither, but if we go all out to win both, we will definitely win neither.
that is the point that has been said on here over and over and over again and you miss the point time and time and time again.
also if you give us 30% chance in the league, what do you give us in the EL? because I can tell you that looking at the teams left in the EL, compared to our competition in the prem, I reckon we are more likely to win the Prem than win the EL.
that is only my opinion.
what however is indisputable, is that playing the Thursday before the sunday continues to have a detrimental impact on our performances (and often results) on the sunday, like it has done for year after year after year, which is why something has to give.
in my opinion there is no comparison between the league and the EL. its all about the league this season, what a great opportunity we have, it may never be this open again for decades, who knows.
if we threw all our eggs in one basket and gave it a real go and just missed out, then only the harshest spurs fan would be critical.
this is the title we are talking about ! haven't won it since 61 and are reminded of it regularly by arsenal Chelsea Liverpool and united fans. plus city, everton villa and whoever else. we have to address this, and if it means sacrificing the EL for a season to go for it then that's what we need to do.
I understand that you disagree, but at least disagree understanding the point, rather than missing it, which is what you do time and time and time again.
