Couldn't agree more McP. Likes the sound of his own voice. Richards is never a central defender not good enough positionally, very reactive to danger.
Would have played him as wingback with a 3 man central defence.
But what do I know. Its strange how Wilkins has gone from Assistant Manager at the Villa to part time breakfast show presenter!
At least Lambert seems to have a genuine high regard for the club, although not the policies which ran it. I think you can only battle against the odds for so long and in his last season I think he was exhausted. He did make a number of mistakes but he did some good things as well.
Wilkins never seemed to have that identity with the club, more that of someone stepping down a bit to give a lower club the benefit of his experience. What did he actually bring to the club? Nothing. No wonder Chelsea moved him on (to the disgust of the media). What Sherwood needed was Ramsey, but Ramsey was unavailable
