Jonny Evans isn't overshadowing anybody.

Evra's played well, linked up well with Young and can only think of 1 mistake he's made which was the poor clearance for Arsenal's first goal. He looks much improved from last season but not quite back to his best

Evra has always been prone to mistakes and many have resulted in goals against us.

But I urge you to actually look at the rest of his game. Going forward he gives Nani/Young som great support and actually creates a lot for us. He can bring the ball out and link up play well down the left. He probably helps create more goals than his accidents cause us to ship.

But I won't deny he's past his best. Problem is, to protect him a bit more, you need to play Park down the left but then we lack the creativity we need to get goals. Young will track back and help more than Nani would I'd say.

I say keep Evra in the team but also allow Fabio a few games to keep him fresh. To be fair on Sunday, he was at fault for the creation of Walcott's goal but De Gea really should have saved it, was a poor shot.

Evans is also a good prospect on the left but Evra and Fabio for me win all day.

On the plus side, how good is Smalling at right back? Fills me full of confidence and also helps on the creative side going forward for me. We need Vidic back and that will help provide more cover for Evra too.

I blame the bullying culture at the club personally

I rated Evra as the best full back in the world a couple of years ago and I don't see the same defensive awareness and threat going forward.

Evans is the opposite, he's thought of as our worst defender but playing above himself.

Sorry but Evra is still a crucial part of the team. Yes, he does have his weaknesses defensively (but then so does Fabio) but the support he gives to the attack going forward is too important to lose.

It was the World Cup screwed him up - leader of the French rebellion and all. He's never been quite as sharp since.

Gary Neville was bob on re club vs country. I hate it when a player I like gets selected for England.

Captain Fantastic - Vidic is the new Chuck Norris (U1042)

Like i said i think he was one of the best in the world and can make a real difference to the team, but for me last year he was a shadow of his former self.

I actually don't think he's past it, just in a bad patch of form.

He was certainly out of position for both goals against Arsenal, and didn't exactly cover himself in glory against Man City. However, would we have scored 8 without him? I think his constant bombing forward down the left gives Young the option to do what he does best and cut inside.
What frustrates me with Evra though is that he needs to be more selfish when he does get into the final third. Constantly he gets into the box and attempts a pass or cross that isn't on.
And to the guy who said Jonny Evans isn't overshadowing anybody, you either need to watch our games again or stop watching football altogether.

It is natural that he would start to decline as he is in his 30s now but he will still be first choice with Fabio getting some of the 'easier' games, for want of a better word, to give him experience.

Not sure anyone but jones is blameless for the 2nd Arsenal goal, it was 6-1 and they all thought they could get on the score sheet

Park should have been covering Van Persie for the 2nd Arsenal goal, he just seemed to watch him

ssn said this morning that De gea made a mistake for one of the arsenal goals, and Evra hasnt been bad hes been ok

Evras positioning is terrible. Hes not as fast as he once was and I dont think he makes a good captain.

He is good going forward and his link up play with Young has been good aswell.

But I want a left back who can defend! And he cant! Anyone else think its a waste Madrid bought Coentrao but play him CM?
