Liverpool v man u first of all isn't even a derby, and secondly its just a couple of has been teams producing a low quality game.

even when they were both good the standard of the games was low quality.

Fair enough, if you don't like wiki, how about SkySports, Fox Sports (ranks United vs Liverpool as fourth biggest derby in world football), any of the newspapers, and anyone who doesn't talk out of their backside.

Or have a look at footballderbies.com. Pretty much the most comprehensive website solely dedicated to football derbies. Ranks the North West Derby as the biggest local derby in club football worldwide.

Three more that really hate each other. I don't really see how any derby is bigger than another but as you said, everyone knows about the north west derby and Manchester and Liverpool are close in location and in terms of their silverware. Spurs and Arsenal aren't.

I'll come on to location in a minute but firstly, they're the two most successful clubs in English football history and have been battling each other for positions for as long as I can remember. That alone makes them rivals.

Even more important than that, is their geographical location. They are neighbouring cities and they are two massively influential cities, in music and football terms, so actually have more of a rivalry than fans from other neighbouring cities. It's one of the biggest rivalries in English football

Liverpool and United hate each other more than Liverpool and Everton and United and City. Those rivalries are more like bragging rights with their mates because reds and blues grew up with each other and are mates.

As a Leicester fan I hate Forest, Derby and Coventry because they are the three cities closest to us. Sunderland and Newcastle hate each other because they are neighbouring cities, same with every single rivalry in the league. United v Leeds is also a massive derby and they hate each other.

The North London derby is meh to most people and Arsenal have arguably cared more about their games with Chelsea recently more than Spurs because they have been rivals in the league, this is pretty much your first season as league rivals with Arsenal.

I'm not sure what you class as a derby but it's sure different to most people.

Tbh Arro you'd have a point about ten years ago, but NLD's have been a lot more even for a long time now, and I think you'll find that the Spurs games are the ones Arsenal fans care about most in the league.

Yes we've still not managed to finish above them but it's been very close, several times.

The NLD probably has the best football on display in any of the English derbies, but for me the United Liverpool derby has been the most exciting up until the past two seasons.

Over the past couple seasons the merseyside derby has produced some belters though, not least that 3-3 or 4-4 ( can't remember which score it was) at Goodson in our title challenge season.
