I do usually look forward to the United vs Liverpool games, however in recent times not as much as generally Liverpool have been struggling so it's not meant much in terms of league position. Both games this season were absolutely dire.

North London Derby is the only one I care about. man United v Liverpool is not even a Derby so not sure why it is always called one.

How is it not a derby?

I'll come on to location in a minute but firstly, they're the two most successful clubs in English football history and have been battling each other for positions for as long as I can remember. That alone makes them rivals.

Even more important than that, is their geographical location. They are neighbouring cities and they are two massively influential cities, in music and football terms, so actually have more of a rivalry than fans from other neighbouring cities. It's one of the biggest rivalries in English football

Liverpool and United hate each other more than Liverpool and Everton and United and City. Those rivalries are more like bragging rights with their mates because reds and blues grew up with each other and are mates.

As a Leicester fan I hate Forest, Derby and Coventry because they are the three cities closest to us. Sunderland and Newcastle hate each other because they are neighbouring cities, same with every single rivalry in the league. United v Leeds is also a massive derby and they hate each other.

The North London derby is meh to most people and Arsenal have arguably cared more about their games with Chelsea recently more than Spurs because they have been rivals in the league, this is pretty much your first season as league rivals with Arsenal.

I'm not sure what you class as a derby but it's sure different to most people.

Tbh Arro you'd have a point about ten years ago, but NLD's have been a lot more even for a long time now, and I think you'll find that the Spurs games are the ones Arsenal fans care about most in the league.

Yes we've still not managed to finish above them but it's been very close, several times.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah I guess that is more true in recent years but there was a time there when you couldn't buy a point off them and then you weren't really as important. I accept that is different this season because it means everything.

I think every derby is equally important because we only care about our own club at the end of the day. I couldn't care less about the result of the NLD unless it matters to us in terms of league position and it's the same with any derby game.

None are more or less important, none are bigger and none are better, a derby is a derby and the respective clubs hate each other and I don't think its possible to say one set of fans hate each more than the other.

If anything, Southampton and Portsmouth hate each other for non footbal related reasons as well as their geographical location. Proper hatred between them.

I wouldn't say the best team will always win the league. I mean it's possible there could be very little in the title between the winner and the runner up, points wise, but the runner up may have had many more poor refereeing decisions go against them over the course of the league.

I wouldn't begrudge Leicester being the best team in the league though at this point. They've only lost the 3 games, all to fairly tough teams, and one of those could quite easily have been a draw. Also scored more goals than anyone else.

Performances alone can't make a team the best team in the league. They need to back it up with points.

All this being said, Leicester are strictly only the best team in the league. All 3 of Arsenal, Spurs and City are better than them overall.
