He was fantastic and has been for ages tbh

Gets a fair bit of stick but he's so important for us

He was quality today always looking for the ball and he made us tick today.

Unlucky with a couple of free kicks too.

MOM Performance

Eriksen was immense, as was Dier, a lot of his work goes unnoticed.

I've noticed in the last two games in particular his chasing down the ball has been superb. He's actually really quick

I must have been watching a different game I thought he was totally wasteful with a good 60% of his passes personally.

I wont say he did not putting the running in but yet again he pulled out of at least two tackles that I can remember

Either that or I am not totally blind like most of our fans seem to be going by the scores they give players after games.

When weill people learn to look at the amount of things a player does wrong instead of the odd eye catching thing that he does right.

Next you will be telling me Eriksen never bottled a couple of challenges AGAIN

Eriksen does bottle challenges and it's annoying.

He was brilliant today though.

Why? Because he ran a lot. Yes he did take one great free kick but other than that at times he had hours on the ball in the centre of the pitch and he put about 2 decent passes in. Had Dembele been playing in that position today like he normally does that game would have been all over by half time.

Twice as good on the ball, does not bottle tackles and does not give the ball away nowhere near as much.

IMO the only player in the squad that is as overated as Eriksen is Rose and yes I know he scored the winning goal today which obviously means he is world class

BTW the said it all yourself

On the basis of today I'd be very pleased to see him play deeper against lesser opposition.

Against lesser oposition!!!!!!!!! wow he must be a great player.

Well yes, I wouldn't play him in a more defensive position against Man City. I'd still play him though, I don't get your point?

posted on 28/2/16

My point is he is average at best which is exactly why you would not play him deeper agaisnt anybody but "lesser opposition".

No it isn't, it's because a more defensive minded midfielder would be more beneficial against a top team than Eriksen would be in that position.

Beats me how anyone can criticise Eriksen on today's performance. To me he seemed involved in most of our attacks and was our go to man throughout the match. His desire and drive inspired all around him. His work rate when we were pressing was fantastic. The fact that he came deep to receive the ball so much was because Dembele was absent and allowed Dier to be more proactive which was necessary. All in all he was easily my Man of the Match today.

I never said he did not work hard I said he was wasteful with the ball time after time

Thought Eriksen ran the show today, everything came through him

Grandspur

I have to disagree with you over Eriksen today, I thought he had a fine game, coleoptera of missed tackles is hardly the stuff to moan about. Hoddle hardly got stuck in, but we never used to moan at him. I will agree with you about Rose though, I still consider his defending very poor.
